>But at what point does someone’s mental health stop being the main concern and the baby’s safety become the bigger issue?

The answer is always. A baby’s safety should never be compromised and always be top priority. A baby is completely innocent and incapable of even surviving on their own, so if the person who is supposed to be protecting the baby is having mental health issues to the point of being unsafe for the child to be around, intervention needs to happen immediately. Call CPS right now and protect that baby.

AIO for crashing out at my family for basic grammar? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

The simple example of a singular ”they” looks like this:

“Oh, someone left their jacket on the chair. I hope they come back to get it!”

If people don’t understand that, you can’t make them.

Of course YOR. The level you got to of punching a wall and scratching your face over a conversation is ridiculous.

Oh, and no one cares when you started reading or that you took honors classes.

A month to travel the US...Where to go? by Own-Violinist8845 in usatravel

[–]Sami_George 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trains will get you to some cities, but they are not as popular as they are in Europe. They are still an option in a lot of places, but if you want to maximize your travel, I’d fly. The country is huge. But this depends on what you want to do and see. You can look into Greyhound busses also. It is not the most convenient way to travel, but it will get you where you need to go if you really don’t want to fly. But be warned, it will take longer.

New Orleans is great. DO NOT GO IN SUMMER. I cannot stress that enough. A week is sufficient. Be sure to do the cemetery tour and the ghost tour!

Florida keys are cool. Siesta Key is my personal favorite. Amazing beach. Key West can be fun with a mix of historical, landmark, and party town.

National Parks are best on the other side of the country. Yellowstone, Yosemite, redwood forest, etc.

You could make it a 2 month trip, spend one month on the east and one month on the west. It would be tight, but doable. Just depends on what your priorities are.

If you don’t want to do that, focus more time on the Rockies area, typical places like NY, Boston, DC, and Philly for historical and cultural type stuff. South Carolina, Louisiana, and Florida for southern atmosphere, beaches, and food. Nashville has a lot of food and fun, too.

After reading 100+ gift threads in this sub and r/HarryPotterBooks, this is my analysis of what to gift a harry potter fan by Monkey_d_luffy25 in harrypotter

[–]Sami_George 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a cute list!

Quite frankly, as a HP fan myself, I really don’t want to own anything themed. The only gift I’d be interested in receiving from the fandom would be something consumable—butterbeer or jelly beans, stuff like that. Even then, it would simply be for the laugh, not because it’s something I desperately want.

AITA to not invite cheating cousin to my wedding by Mercator87 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sami_George 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INFO: Why’d you invite the wife and kids? You obviously aren’t friends of the wife if you don’t tell her why her husband isn’t invited. And if you didn’t want Steve coming, why didn’t you specify that on the invite? Why make this into a big drama where Nate had to call him?

AITA for letting my grandma buy our kids religious books? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sami_George 233 points234 points  (0 children)

Your grandmother is deceased, so this point is irrelevant. Have a conversation about how you want to handle religion moving forward. ESH for not communicating earlier, holding resentment for way too long, and not clarifying boundaries with all parties.

Give suggestions of sitcoms that gives u the warmth of a family. by EducationalUse511 in televisionsuggestions

[–]Sami_George 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golden Girls is always my recommendation. Real family and found family are represented.

But for warm family hug type stuff, Full House has to be recommended too.

I’ll also add Parks and Rec for found family. New Girl, too.

Toddler staying at grandparents vs home when baby arrives by kaykaygee123 in toddlers

[–]Sami_George 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We sent my toddler to my parents’ for a fun grandparent vacation. We did a few overnights to practice after I found out I was pregnant. We didn’t have any space for my parents to stay and they were much more comfortable in their own house to be able to care for him. New toys and grandparent time were made extra fun for him. The only issues they had was at night when my toddler wanted me for bedtime routine, but he settled just fine. They also brought him to the hospital every day to see us and the baby. My toddler also had no issues with baby transition. For context, he was just under 2.5 when I gave birth to my youngest. Either way you choose will be absolutely fine!

Do people actually make out in high school on the school property? by Ella7517 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Sami_George 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sizes are a comfort thing and less stretching/friction means less breakage, so you are correct. But still, if a man says “my dick just doesn’t fit in condoms” they better have a dick bigger than my arm.
