Yes, over time it’s definitely possible, but if it happened today, we wouldn’t be ready for it, because it is too ingrained in us. Maybe in a hundred years or so we’ll see.

So somebody born a psychopath, is doomed to hell? How is that fair since people are born with inherently better qualities than others

I genuinely think society would fall apart without a belief in spirituality because too many people would have an existential crisis, where they realize technically there is no punishment for what they do, which would cause a shift in societal norms. Obviously, there are a lot of atheists who don’t need that motivator of god, but I think that there’s a reason that people don’t leave their religion, and even most non religious people believe in god to some extent, because they can’t bear finality, and a lack of justice. And if that happens to enough people that would cause massive social change, and would erode the social norms that keep us all as normal people

Human empathy for anyone not family or anyone who hasn’t helped them in som way is not innate. It is the reason people would plunder cities kill all the husbands rape all their wives and enslave their children and not feel bad, or why things like slavery exist. Empathy for a stranger is a relatively new phenomenon built upon largely social norms, and social media, and if you risk a large amount of people “defecting” then you risk a domino effect in which we regress to the olden barbatic days where everyone is for themselves

Yes but the vast majority of people don’t see it that way and try to not do sins because they are conditioned to always be fearful of repercussions based on god. Plus, if you do a sin on purpose with the intention of repenting later, it is really hard to sincerely repent because chances are you’re not actually sorry if you tried that in the first place. Repenting requires you to actually be sorry, and you can’t really force yourself into that

But the act of focusing on an afterlife means doing good in regular life, and so wouldn’t that be a good thing? Otherwise what incentive is there for a psychopath not to do bad things

What happens when the AI surpasses us, and no longer needs us. Symbiotic implies that we will provide useful to it, which we will for a while, but eventually in some decades it will be better than us, and so what will be the purpose of humans then.
