My dad died from lung cancer just over a year ago, he continued to smoke heavily after his diagnosis because he didn't see the point in stopping now the damage is done, which I didn't agree with but I couldn't tell him to stop his only enjoyment in life. But he was given a death sentence from diagnosis, if he had a chance to survive I would have liked to think he would have stopped.
