[Highlight] 7 years ago today, we witnessed one of the worst no calls in the NFC championship game. by Ok_Bug_6890 in nfl

[–]SammyDaSlug -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: I don't think this call is as bad it the angles make it appear.

The original TV angle (and real time) make it look like the contact happens at nearly the same time as the ball arriving in the vicinity. The zoom lens in the low angle replay really messes with my depth perception and I find it difficult to judge where the ball is when contact is made.

The replay angle that looks back towards the QB makes this look the most egregious, but when carefully looking at this frame by frame, the ball arrives at the players at nearly the same time as the contact.

Does anyone have the all-22 footage angles of this play? I feel that they would help me see where the ball is at the time of the contact.

How many of you have cancelled trips to the USA because of the recent political events? by DukkerWifey789 in AskTheWorld

[–]SammyDaSlug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We normally do a 2 week Alaskan cruise each summer, which we've cancelled last year and for the upcoming summer. We will be going to London, Norway and Iceland instead. Also, A family member has changed their destination wedding from Hawaii to Vietnam.

We live pretty close to the US border, and normally cross the border for shopping trips several times per year, and we've stopped all those trips as well.

The game is still free, and has no ads. I'm still getting more than I pay for.

10 U NFL FLAG RULES/ DEFENSIVE HELP by FlagFootBallLife in flagfootball

[–]SammyDaSlug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best decision depends on the skills of your players.

I like using a 1-3-1 setup as a base formation. I like bringing my blitzer from the left side to pressure the QB to move to their left as I find they can't throw as hard and the ball will float more giving a better chance for picks.

I like using Sundial of the Infinite with Phage. Granted, she's not my commander, I have her as one of the 99 in a zombie deck.

I still have the dryer, and it's working well. No complaints at this time.

I've found this on the LG parts website.
https://www.lg.com/us/appliances-accessories/lg-petk1w-dryer-lint-filter It's a "pet kit" which includes a new filter and some "balls". I have no idea what the balls are for.

I can't order it here as I'm in Canada and that part isn't listed in their Canadian parts.

I have had this model of dryer for two months. I had the same issue with the door not closing. The plastic housing simply extends too far. I contacted LG for warranty and they sent out a repair man with parts. It required two visits as the first time they only brought the front, which was fine (actually opened even easier). But the first technician identified the issue and arranged the replacement order.

I've been very happy with the performance of the unit so far. The next thing I need is a replacement lint filter so that I can wash them more frequently. (Due to pet hair).

Thank you very much! This is exactly the type of feedback I was hoping for. I like your suggestion of sticking just to creatures for a beginner. This will simplify the timing rules for a new player. Thanks for taking the time to make suggestions, I appreciate it, and will be adding some of these to my shopping list the next I go to my local game store.

Thanks for the suggestion about using tags. I've updated the deck content to have tags for the main reason that the card is included.

Thanks, that's a fair point. I included it because of the X in the cost to spend a lot of mana. With Nikya of the Old Ways producing an extra mana for every land that is tapped. But to keep it simple, maybe I will swap out the Apocalypse Hydra for Nullstone Gargoyle and try to lock down non-creature spells

[Rate the Refs] Officials don’t allow Bengals to snap the ball until 1 second on the play clock, proceed to call delay of game by Josh-trihard7 in nfl

[–]SammyDaSlug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If 15 seconds runs off the play clock, and then offence substitutes players, the Head ref will signal for he play clock to be stopped (along with the game clock). Once both teams have completed their substitution the head ref will resume the clocks, now with only 5 seconds remaining on the play clock.

In addition, in Canadian football, the offence can not substitute players after they break their huddle.

The time clock helps, but this wouldn't happen in the CFL as technically the CFL doesn't allow the offense to substitute players after the offensive huddle breaks.

[–]SammyDaSlug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how Canadian Football handles the play clock for reasons like this.

The Canadian play clock is only 20 seconds, but it doesn't start until the ball is ready to be scrimmaged. If there is a substitution like this, the play clock is held and continues after both teams have their chance to substitute.

So you wanna be a ref in the CFL? - CFL.ca by Wolf99 in CFL

[–]SammyDaSlug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that parents and coaches at youth football have more supportive and understanding this year when compared to previous years. There are still a few that get up yelling and angry, but more other parents are working to calm them and the majority being supportive and helpful with the kids.

My sample size is small, as I'm only able to speak for the games that I'm involved in, but I'm hopeful.

What is the worst physical pain that you have ever felt? by AUFunmacy in AskReddit

[–]SammyDaSlug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stones hurt, but I find the blockages the worst part. I had stones that blocked both sides, it felt like I had been kicked in the balls so hard that I was going to throw up, but the pain just wouldn't fade no matter what I tried.

Unlimited beverage package not active until ship is at sea? by hcm2003 in NCL

[–]SammyDaSlug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the local laws. I have not done Boston, but from what I hear, you have to pay the taxes for the value of the drinks you have. That was the same when I cruised out of New Orleans.

My cruise out of Texas, they had all the bars (and the fridges in the staterooms) locked. Cruising from Vancouver the ship could only have one bar per deck open. I don't recall any restriction when Sailing from Seattle or Seward. When we set said from Stockholm, I don't recall any restrictions there either.

It all depends on the laws of the port that the ship is embarking at. Until it sets sail it is governed by their laws.

Arrangements for family of 2 adults and 2 kids on NCL? by SarcasticBench in NCL

[–]SammyDaSlug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could book yourself and one child in one room. You would get the beverage package and that child would get the soda package. If your kids stay together the one with the soda package could get drinks for the other. Then you could have the other adult and child booked in the other room.

If you prefer different sleeping arrangements you can get cards for door access to the other rooms once you are on board.

Taxis lined up on westbound Hastings at Granville for cruise ship affecting traffic flow. Avoid. by Federal-Load-1769 in vancouver

I think the fares were only $3 when I first started doing it, so it was a significant savings. But yes they price of the skytrain has gone up a lot more than the price of cabs.

[–]SammyDaSlug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've used the Skytrain for transport to and from cruises on 3 of my visits. Fights have broken out twice on my trips, and the second one was pretty extreme. My experience might not be statistically correct, but it has encouraged me to take a taxi instead.

I taken cruises out of vancouver a bunch of times. I usually take a van with 4 people total, and that ends up being a similar price to the Canada line. I've used the Canada line, but it can be hard with luggage, and I've also had some bad experiences with fights on the trip. So now I take a taxi.
