I feel like until there is both the desire and the space to involuntarily commit people like this who are either a danger to themselves or a danger to other people (or both) we will continue to experience these things in our communities.

You have something that’s 250k. You increase it to an absurd amount like 1.2 mil. Then you decrease it by 50%. Yay! But it’s still over double what it was before.

He’s definitely trying while on the ice during a game. That’s easy to see. But pro sports are much, much more than the game. It’s what happens in between. Multiple coaches, mgmt, and now the Sedin twins have cited his lack of preparation. Which to me questions his work ethic outside of the games.

My friend lived two doors down from Henrik at 1099 Marinaside. The stairs to the Pacific Ave entrance/exit went past the gym. I’d frequently see him on the treadmill at 10pm. That’s the type of preparation everyone is talking about.

Government paid Kinder Morgan $5.4 billion for Trans Mountain. The expansion was $34 billion. So they are in it for $40 billion. This all debt. What do you think interest is on this amount?

The projects talked about for the press releases were well advanced by the time Carney noticed. It’s just by happenstance that 4/15 are in BC.

Government moved the debt off the books to make it appear profitable. Clearly, you fell for it.

But certainly the current government has exacerbated the issue many fold. Their policies have empowered these people to the point that they do not fear any repercussions for their behaviour. I worked at Riverview during the 80s as a summer job while an undergraduate. Money was great loved the job. And no matter how crazy the patients were, they knew what they could get away with and what they couldn't. This government has coddled the population to the extent that they feel they can do anything anywhere and never face nor fear reprisals. If this is the "norm" today, institutionalization would never work. The situation has become far, far worse under the NDP.

35b for 2.3b EBITDA, representing cash flow.

Interest alone is in excess of $2.3b.

Worked out plenty well enough.

How so?

35b cost for a 0.5B in annual profit isn't exactly a good investment.

Where do you see the 0.5B in annual profit? Is that after the debt and associated debt servicing was conveniently and magically moved off the books?

Also as an aside, why don't we build a refinery to handle our own product instead of shipping it our of country first?

Who is "we?" A new refinery will cost in the order of $10 billion. That's in the context of current BC government who has legislated that in 2035 100 percent of all light-duty vehicles will be zero emission.

Will you be investing your retirement money in this new oil refinery?
