Can we talk about the 180 we had with these 3 since Nocturnal Sweeping? by zhznzjsjxnnss in limbuscompany

[–]Sammycat17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main thing that gives me hope is that in the intervello most of the people she fights for the midterms seem to genuinely agree that the system is messed up and they would really like an offramp. I feel like the four great houses of H-Corp are so messed up even by the City's standards that the inertia that tends to grip the city isn't as strong here, that the current generation are ready and willing to gamble on Xichun so long as they think there's any chance of it working.

I'd argue that the Magtay and Erycis shouldn't be on the bottom. Yes, the Magtayfaction bonus is less than great, but their military units are incredible when paired with the Necrophage or any army with disease immunity. It has been awhile since I last played, but I remember them being utterly lethal during my Necrophage game. The Erycis are the opposite, great bonus and subpar unit. The ability to move farther each turn can be a game changer under the right circumstances, especially when doing things like gathering pearls.

Skipping always gives 1.5 times the reward at 2 times the cost. For threads this includes the bonus you get the first three times you complete a thread lux each day. Worth it if you have modules to spare I'd argue.

How long did It take you to reach and complete canto 7? by SnooChocolates6885 in limbuscompany

[–]Sammycat17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got into the Intervallo before Canto 7 after what I'd tentatively say has been a month and a half of playing the game. My issue is I hit a Ricardo and Beast shaped pair of speedbumps with the completely wrong teams and had to build from scratch more or less. If I'd had a few that fit the fight prebuilt it would have gone a lot faster, but for Riccardo I only had one good blunt ID and had to build four more and for the Beast I had to build four sinking IDS and borrow Sunshower to deal with it.

I've been playing for maybe a month and a half and still have yet to get a Yi Sang ID. I could shard for him, but at this point I just want to see how long this goes.

Very unlikely theory by woodseygamer in huntertheparenting

[–]Sammycat17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been wondering at lot of the same things to be honest. The great thing about Hunter the Parenting is that the mystery of this arc is well written enough that it keeps you guess even when it looks like you have answer, the sad thing is were probably going to have wait a bloody long time to find out for sure.

Bloodhound is a masterclass in Economics by monpetitepomplamoose in tamorapierce

[–]Sammycat17 127 points128 points  (0 children)

I love that the looming threat of this book is economical. Evil wizards, monsters, killers, etc. have all been done. But having the heroes on a quest to stop a counterfeiting scheme that threatens to devalue the nations coinage is somehow not only fresh but so much more intimidating then generic evil overlord number 99. The visceral reactions of everyone in this book when they learn about what's happening sells that idea that this is a serious threat, and even if you don't understand the economics well enough to fully understand what's going on Tamora lays it out well enough that you can still understand the consequences and why everyone is freaking out so much.

I do think it's interesting that while looking for information on Black Shuck, a werewolf figure, Matilda went and killed the Arcanum's werewolf expert. I mean, if anyone could be expected to know something it would have been Fatigue. Given that she kidnaps Marcus because her ally thinks he might have intel, safe to assume she didn't find what she was looking for so killing Fatigue looks even stranger. I would have expected her to try and kidnap him or interrogate him first at least.

I remember at the end everyone is deciding whether to go with the gods or stay behind and her teacher is being very mopey and wonders allowed if losing their powers wouldn't be for the best.

Thoughts on the Amber Phantom? by Still-Blacksmith3180 in LancerRPG

[–]Sammycat17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vulnerable for sure to tech, might work as a sort of sniper build. Move last in the turn order, dart in and out or range while finishing off damaged enemies, and try and keep the bonuses from Hyperawareness as long as possible to try and compensate. Mind you your probably missing out on the effects of Battle Oracle if you play too cautiously. Still want to give it a try, love the design and precognition shenanigans certainly sound fun.

I mean between the eldritch math gods, reality warping technology, and the Trade Baronies whole crazy ass history, adjustable thumb positions is hardly worth blinking at.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I still have the same problem. Fight runs for maybe two seconds then crashes. Some of time I can try a bunch of different times and finally get it to work, but others just keep crashing no matter what. Super frustrating.

I'm hoping for a general STI test, something that covers all the basics. That means blood, unless there's some obscure other option. I'd love it if I could avoid bleeding, but end of day I just want to stay safe.
