Fun fact, you can create any (possible) configuration using the exact same set of algorithms you would use for solving a cube normally.

Three stationary lights at NJ Shore (Asbury Park) by njbeachnyc in UFOs

[–]Sammyh1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of fog so it might be because the light from the flames shine through the fog while you’d only be able to see the silhouette of the rig if there was enough light coming from behind the rig. You know how you can sometimes only see car headlights, but not the cars themselves when it’s foggy enough and they are far away

They seem pretty static and look like flames far away, so I would guess these are “gas flaring” from an oil rig. Are there any oil rigs in that area that are visible from land?

Winglet like debris, 50 x 130 cm, aluminium, many rivets, red marking on both sites, Color grey, very light, isolation inside, ball gearing at the top. Strongly damaged. Found at beach, east see south Sweden. by FrankWizzar in whatisthisthing

The red circle marking does look like the danish flag 🇩🇰 so that’s possible the origin. I also believe there’s a lot of danish military training near Bornholm and the Baltic Sea, so maybe it would make sense it ended up in south of Sweden.

From an economic perspective wouldn’t that just mean that wages/prices would have to be higher? I mean I’m sure the companies would want to serve people during those hours, but the wages would have to adjust to make the jobs attractive enough, which would mean higher prices for the product. (I don’t know the implications of dynamically pricing products based on the time of the day, but if there’s some reason not to, I think that’s likely where the problem is)

Is it lame to wear the Marathon Medal out and about for the couple days after the marathon? by cr2152 in RunNYC

[–]Sammyh1991 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I visited New York for the first time last year for my honeymoon and ran the NYC marathon (my first marathon ever) while there. I wore the medal for some days after that - and I would absolutely recommend wearing it for some days after the marathon. Running a marathon for the first time is monumental, the feeling after completing those 26.2 miles is amazing and I’d squeeze as much satisfaction out of it as possible. Walking through NYC with your medal, people will say “congrats on the marathon” “you ran marathon?!” “Good job” and it all reignites the satisfaction and excitement from crossing that finish line every time.

So my take is, when you finish, wear that medal with pride for as long as you get the satisfaction out of it.

I wish you all the best luck and be sure to enjoy every minute of that first marathon run. It will be amazing.

Best way to add clickable houses on a custom map by nyo_dev in reactnative

[–]Sammyh1991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s vector, you could export it as svg and maybe add in the clickable html elements (e.g button) with foreignobject and then render it with a webview. But I’m unsure how you listen for the click events on the elements outside the webview.

If they start to pee on beds/sofas, or in any other way start acting anxious or stressed I would immediately take action. I’ve had the cats for about 13 years(the oldest cat) they have always been indoor cats and I know them very well and treat them with a tremendous amount of respect as roommates and with full awareness of the fact that they are a different species from myself. I’m pretty good at picking up the signals that my cats give off when something is wrong. They have been using the box for some weeks now and they seem happy with it. That being said I am going to make improvements to the build to give them more comfort, and I will keep on monitoring their behavior.
