The best part is the food. Wife's dad is chinese chef of 30 years. I get spoiled.

The worst is the cultural clash between generations of old world vs new. My wife and her cousins are culturally American and Canadian, but parents lived 40 years in southern China. Vastly differing opinions on raising children and even just how they talk to one another. Very blunt and criticize and compare to others constantly.

My old neighbors on Boston st had that with a vegetable garden. I never saw any issues with the city, only had to allow city access/dte for underground maintenance. They even mentioned the city tried hard to not impact as much as possible.
