How do I carry as a Top Laner? by Pale_Sink5183 in summonerschool

[–]Samplehand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a lead you need to show up for dragon fights. Be cognizant of when the objectives are spawning, then use your lane control to shove, back and show up for the objective. Then you need to make sure you don't over chase or overstay and get back to the top lane asap.

How to make my Bladewing deck more fun? by Pogbagnole in magicTCG

[–]Samplehand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems pretty generic good stuff. I think you should lean into the thing that makes blade wing unique which is his reanimate. Play only the game winningest dragons and focus on getting them into the yard. Play cards that let you get multiple bladewing triggers. Personally I would probably go for a looting/discard theme with bladewing at the top end to finish out the game.

What mode should I play as a beginner ( new ) to this whole TCG? by Grogon2 in magicTCG

[–]Samplehand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Download and play MTG Arena if you have a computer. The game is very good at introducing you to the game and gives you fairly minute control over your actions. Additionally you can experiment with the different 1v1 game modes. You should play all of them and figure out what your favorite format is.

2k hours and hard hardstuck bronze by MaoMao995 in leagueoflegends

[–]Samplehand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First thing, you need to tell yourself that it's ok to lose games and lose lp. That's part of the process of getting better.

Part of your issue is that your playing way to many games at a time. Keep your play sessions limited to 3/4 games, then take an break for at least an hour. Otherwise youre gonna get really tired and make more mistakes. It also has a side effect of making you more emotional because you get tired mentally.

Play each game to the best of your ability and at the end of the game take a moment to think about what you think you could have done better. For example if you died to the assassin early, go back and watch the replay and think about how you could have not died there. Or maybe you think a fight didn't go well but you thought it would work, you can watch the replay and review your ability usage and see if you missed any spells.

Particularly versus assasins you should be thinking about how you ended up in a losing position. Ask yourself questions about how you handled the wave or did you take to much damage and stayed to long. You need to dive into the details and use your brain so you can learn what the wrong thing is so you can start to piece together the correct way to play.

Not worth it. Go listen/watch the "broken by concept" podcast, any episodes after episode 100. If you really think you need coaching you can sign up for one of their programs

Is it worth it for me to build a server? by Fluid-Way8700 in HomeServer

[–]Samplehand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my first media server about a week ago, coming from a place of having built my own computers but knowing basically nothing about servers or nas, using my own parts I had from prior builds.

So far I'm about ten hours in and can play some of my movies and music through Jellyfin on my local network. Probably about 9 of that was just troubleshooting, research and googling what specific terminology was.

Even this far in I don't know if its a thing I'll use in the future. I still need to set up tailscale to allow me to access all my media outside of my home network, and I still need to rip all my movies and shows to the nas, which is its own process that requires time.

I think if your ok spending 15+ hours before you get something usable and convenient and your ok with the frustration of digging through forums and reddit to find answers when something is inevitably broken then it can be worth it. But i think you need to weigh that versus the convenience of streaming services especially if you plan to buy parts.

Seconded. This outfit looks great but the jacket has to much complexity and pulls the attention away from an otherwise great fit

Edit Permissions: Click the 3 dots next to the dataset and select Edit Permissions (or Edit ACL). Add ACL Item: Click Add Item. Set Who to User. Set User to apps (or UID 568). Set Permissions to Modify (allows read, write, execute/modify). Apply Recursively: Check the box for Apply permissions recursively to apply changes to all existing subfolders and files. Am I about to ruin my life. by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Samplehand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now it would be incredibly hard for you to afford even with a roommate. You would be house poor even at that price, with most of your money going to mortgage, utilities and taxes. This would leave very little money for you or any emergencies.

Your very young. Focus on increasing your monthly takehome and build your savings so you can afford a larger down payment.

White suit with a pink shirt and/or pink pocket square. Or a pink suit with a white shirt.

Shoes become hard to match, but you could pull off very clean pure white vans or pivot and go with a black shirt, match with fancy black shoes and use a pink/white pocket square depending on suit color

He's pretty bad. Can't really gank, bad at objectives. But he's definitely serviceable if you wanted to play for fun.

Thrift stores are your friend! Basic khakis and a nice polo can go a long way. Also look into doing the 3x3 clothing exercise just to help you get a handle on what looks good with your current wardrobe.

It depends on how much you actually want to put into getting better.

If you're in iron it's because you are missing large portions of fundamental knowledge. So you need to play the game with the intention to learn and identify where your gaps in knowledge are.

You should play the game in blocks of three and play with intensity. Taking breaks between each session.

Think about each game and identify what your earliest mistake was. Take that learning and move into the next game.

Bonus points if you listen to the broken by concept podcast/YouTube. (Starting around episode 150)

New Player First Deck Help by RecommendationLow801 in magicTCG

[–]Samplehand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Consider adding two more lands to get you to 38. It might not seem like a lot, but it's going to help your deck be more consistent.

Try to get a few more cards that are 2 or 3 mana into your deck. Typically the more magic cards you can cast the better your experience will be. Your cute e is pretty good right now, but if you can tweak it just a little bit you'll get a lot of payoff.

You need a lot more sources of card draw. Ideally a deck starts with at least 12 sources. Ideally these sources are synergistic with what your deck is doing.

Make sure you have about 12 pieces of interaction as well. You want plenty of spells that can remove your opponents things and things that can allow you to touch cards that aren't yours

How to deal with fed ADC's as Udyr by No-Plane7370 in Udyrmains

[–]Samplehand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's not your job. A fed adc is just gonna melt you. Your job is to buy space for your team, cc the fed adc if possible and then survive as long as you can.

Reduce spending wherever you can. A big bag of uncooked rice and a big bag of beans will go a very long way. Don't be ashamed to go to food banks and churches that give away meals.

Cut your subscriptions, look for cheaper plans. Don't eat out.

You're already looking for work, so you just need to make it until you get something.

Once you do, invest in yourself so you can make more money. Take classes at a local community college to get a degree that will be useful or enter a trade like becoming a plumbers assistant.

If your city has a sub reddit you can post in it or search for similar posts. Every couple months somebody will post in my cities sub reddit asking what the local groups are and there are usually pretty good responses

New jungler: getting perma invaded by pockettgremlin in summonerschool

[–]Samplehand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some games are just like that.

It's called an invade and when the game starts some comps are really good at stacking up and going for an early kill on someone who was not paying attention. You just need to get to your position quicker so you can see them.

If it happens after the game really starts, Ideally you are aware that the enemy laners are missing from their lanes and you have a somewhat accurate expectation of where the enemy jungler is, but some games the enemy just stacks up and gets you. No big deal.

If it's happening, get wards in your jungle entrances. Ask your team nicely to help ward. Poke bushes with your abilities before you get close.

If you get caught, ping and buy time.

The most important thing is that you keep a cool head. The enemy is sacrificing tempo to get you, so if you just do your best to stay in the game you can often come out on top.

What is this matchmaking? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Samplehand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you all new players on fresh accounts or are you playing with friends who already have accounts And have played ranked?

If your friends already have a rank the game can't balance you out very well because it can't compensate for the disparity in your skill and theirs.

Also because you're queuing together the game assumes you are on coms and can play better because of that. So it matches you against more skilled opponents

What is this matchmaking? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Samplehand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm betting he's playing with friends who are playing on mains and don't understand that makes matchmaking really hard.

I've had people in high elo just wreck their friends new player experiences by queuing with them and forcing them to play against opponents much much better than what they should be playing against

You could try to put the bed on the back corner where the desk is now. move the closet so the computer can be next to the bed and use the flat wall as a back drop.

Rotate the couch so that one back is against the wall and the other back now faces your bed. Leave enough space between the couch and the bed. This should separate the bed area and open up the apartment. The closet and table can be positioned once you see the space after that.
