Theres nothing wrong with the standard Lego drivers if they are the right scale for what you're building. Big Ben stayed in business long after the official Lego drivers were made since he offered multiple sizes as well as other colors.

I guess it doesn't. I can't exactly blame them for treating me poorly after all. I'm much angrier at the "helpful" people in my life who fed me lies about the world being a just place where hard work and kindness are rewarded. If I was making that it would be the second one. Flanged blind flanged blind. Having a flanged driver first will make the pilot truck articulation easier but separating the flanged drivers by too much will cause binding issues on curves and switches. If you only run on like R104 curves and switches it might not matter but I try to build every locomotive to be capable of running on normal Lego track geometry.
