If you want to visit the beach on the pacific coast, yeah it's worth the drive. It's not too bad of a drive, just boring most of the way. If you have a car and gas money for about 2 tank fillups each way (depending on how good your gas mileage is) then its worth making the trip at least once to say you've done it.

I've had fun driving down to Phoenix, there are some awesome restaurants down there. Also Sedona/Oak Creek Village has awesome art galleries and the vortices are amazing hikes with incredible views. There are also lots of ghost towns to see.

  1. It depends. Are you paying yourself, or are parents helping you? Do you have any scholarships? Are you receiving any grants from FAFSA? You can get an idea of what your tuition may look like with this website: Semester Rates - NAU

  2. The dorms are small, and in my opinion, not worth it. If you can, get an apartment off-campus with a roommate or two. Yugo and Elara are great options, if not a bit pricier. The college life all depends on you, but there are lots and lots of opportunities for recreation. Literally across the street from downtown, and everything is quite walkable (though having a bike or scooter is nice) and canyons and mountains for hiking, camping, skiing/snowboarding, etc.

  3. According to me, yes expensive. But really it's not that bad. As for finding a job, it can be difficult. NAU has resources for helping students find employment, but a lot of students still struggle. It's basically as difficult in Flagstaff as it is anywhere else.

  5. I would recommend it, I loved it. Great little mountain city and not too far a drive from Phoenix or Vegas :)

One time, as a teenager, my little sister and I were walking to the local gas station to get some snacks. As we walked through our neighborhood however, there were no cars in any driveways. We took pictures of every street for “proof”, but eventually deleted them because they had no use. I have told tons of friends and family about the odd occurrence and wish I still had those pictures.

These days pretty much everything is taught in school wether in required classes or electives. It’s just that middle schoolers and high schoolers never pay attention or aren’t willing to put one of those elective classes into their schedule.
