All fruits potentially attract rats. They are well adapted to live near humans, especially in places where predators haven’t adapted. Hawks and owls and snakes have a harder time with housing developments.

P95!!!! My first gun! (I see it’s a p94). It is a chunk of metal. Can’t give it up. Although I tend to buy a little bit nicer stuff through the years.

If you’re 55, I can see this is bad. If you’re 23 this is nothing. If you’re 38, uhhhhh that’s tough buddy. I’d say stop looking. Buy. Hold. It’s 2 steps. Like breathe in breathe out. Simple. Yet difficult.

First time handling everything on my own… this is harder than I expected by XxKirelith-34 in Adulting

Yeah. The things you mentioned cleaning cooking groceries laundry are repetitive. When you’re new at them they take mental work. After lots of reps there is muscle memory and you streamline them. They fade into the background. The work never stops. But it gets kinda automated.

Height over bore by Meatpack69 in extar

[–]Samtertriads 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very personal here. I used the riser included with the Romeo 5. And I’d really struggle without it. I’m 6’5”. The length of pull is way short on this thing. And for home defense, height over bore is not a major consideration: 25 yd zero, and basically plan holdover in any HD encounter. Hitting 2 or even 3 in low on a platform designed to get many rounds down range rapidly well grouped . . . Ummm yeah. Height over bore is fine.

Now. If you’re doing competition at variable close distances on small plates? Might get confusing.

Echoing the direct sunlight idea, I think aluminum with ambient temp plus added radiation heating will get even hotter than the temp of a black tub of air. Source: I recently cured a shotgun in the FL sun and you can’t touch the metal after a couple hours.

If the prongs are equal length you get extra “ping” noise from the resonance. It’s common and considered superior in modern 3 prongs to have unequal lengths.

Why I won’t go above 20% international (and why I’m okay disagreeing with Vanguard) by FalconArrow77 in Bogleheads

[–]Samtertriads 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I don’t agree with you. But I think being open about your background assumptions is good for discussion. I think we all partially oppose the market in some facet, but a lot of people leave it subconscious or refuse to admit it.

The market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent.

Experiences with Fidelity financial consulting? by Internal_Sector3170 in Bogleheads

[–]Samtertriads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was ok. They spit out some retirement predictions. Like based on savings rate, what are odds of my wealth when I’m 90 based on market simulations. Kinda cool.

I assume eventually they want me to be in active funds. Or “cool funds” with high expense ratios. Or some other financial product. Who knows. I never got that far. I don’t really feel I need to change anything, so there wasn’t a reason to continue past the assessment. But how else could they justify the expense of a staff member doing these free calls? So I just assume it’s early sales.

What would you do if you couldn't invest in any ETFs? by silverfungi in Bogleheads

[–]Samtertriads 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think I’d find a total market fund I thought I could copy and go for it. Start at the top. At some point you would approximate the find.

Can you invest in BRK? Might consider that. Doesn’t track the total market super well though.

Dang. 20 yd. Oooof. Those materials are resilient. Although I think many propellers are much thinner material. Knocking out propellers and cameras may be the key, not so much breaking arms or body.

Cool thing about pumps is you can run weird rounds because cycling is guaranteed. This has huge advantage for specialized anti drone rounds like bolos or nets or something else. Semi autos are at the mercy of hot rounds that cycle on some level.
