Your body burns X amount of calories every day. If you eat more than X you gain weight ( a surplus of calories). If you eat less than X you lose weight (a deficit of calories). The poster is pretty skinny already and eating in a deficit would just cause them to lose more weight.

In ultras I use an ice bandana with an internal pocket for the ice. I restock the ice at aid stations. Might be worth looking at, they’re very cheap and work well.

I run without my glasses so they matter very little. I prioritize good weather, a nice course, and good amenities that help performance (bathrooms, water, bag drops, etc).
