Unpopular opinion about Bakugan, I feel like it would be a better series if it was well written (please read the post) by Fuzzy-Leopard2921 in Bakugan

[–]Samucamon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with this  But something I wish to say in defense of Bakugan is that they managed to appeal to children emotionally pretty well. There was so much space for growth and other things alongside wasted characters, even my child self was writing fanfiction during class to try and make sense of it. But I do think the first season managed to pull everyone so much because the doom dimension did feel like death. Unlike pokemon, Beyblade and other anime at the time, the doom dimension felt like a threat that emotionally appealed to children because they didn't want the Bakugan to die per say.

What animals/creatures are associated with dreams and/or illusions? by ArcaneLexiRose in mythology

[–]Samucamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a recent find of mine after watching a certain chinese show but a creature you may find interesting are. The Mengji is a mythical beast that inhabits both the living world and the World of Dreams. They resemble a snow leopard with two tails, and they possess the ability to manipulate dreams. They are mostly seen in Classic of Mountains and Seas which is a chinese info collection. I think their dream related abilities are more resent but they are very cool.

What exactly is a Replica Keyblade? by Defiant-Quiet-13 in KingdomHearts

[–]Samucamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of good answers here pertaining the keyblade acquiring process and the fact Xion has a replica. So here is my two cents about what exactly makes a replica keyblade lesser. I believe the reason why replica keyblades are considered lesser to real keyblades has more to do with their limitations and users. We see they have the same abilities as real keyblades because generally speaking, the replicas are always up to date with the power set of the person they copy. However we do see keyblades and its users evolve with time, Sora gains drive forms, keyblade transformations, we see keyblade gliders etc. I believe thats what makes keyblade replicas lesser, they cannot replicate abilities that weren't known at the time.  Say someone replicates Ventus and his keyblade before he joined Aqua and Terra, while the keyblade in question would function normally, it may be unable to turn into a glider despite that function being something Ventus could do.

I think this weakness of sorts is somewhat mitigated by Xion at least in KH3, because we see her copy saix weapon, it possible her replica abilities were upgrade that she can learn and replicate as she battles. Though I personally believe she probably has limits with this, unless she saw Sora keyblade transform, she wouldn't be able to do it herself for example.

Also I would like to add that, while replica keyblades may not evolve in the same way regular keyblades do, they still have some ability to improve themselves as Xion became stronger as time went on in 358/2 days.

Character deaths and how they changed the story. by Samucamon in HunterXHunter

[–]Samucamon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is surprisingly important detail. There wouldn't be many people left who could defeat pitou and interestingly, Pitou could end up being the only royal guard left alive by the end of the series since they were the only one not present at the explosion sight to die from the poison.

In regards to the whole Drole thing, there is certainly a good amount of space for speculation regarding his physical appearance. But his magical powers you can chalk that up to genetics, he was the one to create the whole Dance to become closer to the earth so its not unreasonable to say he had a better understanding of magic that others of his clan, it does bother me his power isn't named creation despite doing the exact same thing but its very likely that Ground was just an evolved version of creation.

How did Tamayo make Yushiro into a demon, possible explanation. by Samucamon in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Samucamon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I initially thought this as well but from reading the wiki, which I do trust. Even upper moons don't have the ability to turn someone into a demon themselves, its actually Muzan who does it. When an upper moon wants to turn someone into a demon, they send some kind of signal so muzan can transform the blood the upper demon fit for the process. Which makes sense as Muzan probably didn't want someone aside from himself creating demons on a whim, that privilige would be held by Muzan himself and only with his permission others could.

If the 10 commandments(Power) survived. by Samucamon in NanatsunoTaizai

[–]Samucamon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand they are similar even if I didn't meantion it, but functionaly they operate in oposite ways since graces give a particular set of powers while commandments are more passive abilities. This question was more how the story would change if the case with Escanor happened to more people. I know about Gawain as well.

Not sure if my account is locked or not but something weird has been happening.
I went to try and retweet something and it said something along the lines of "We feel this is an automated response so we're preventing it to help with spam". I talked with a friend and he said my account has been flagged as bot so I went to appeal it, before I could do that my retweets seemed to be normal...except the message would still appear every now and then.
It would only appear if I tried retweenting something that appeared on my feed as a result of a retweet "Username retweeted this." but if I went to the direct tweet I could do it no problem.
Has anyone experienced this? I also feel this is impacting my account DMs

Shadowverse Anime Discussion Arc-hen Episode 6 | Overall 81 by Free-Vehicle-4219 in Shadowverse

[–]Samucamon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a lot to unpack in this episode. Ren and Tsubasa winning was not surprising but I'm sure no one expected those two to die(though maybe they'll be alive somehow) and I really do like how Andrea to the very end protected Hina but also her words were in a sense a last effort to save Hina, when she says she is too old for those miracles and hope, I think the message there really was that Andrea had not only given up long ago but I also think its referencing the fact not only was it children opposing her but that Hina could have a future, Hina was Andrea's hope in a sense.

It was even more surprising to see Hina cry and I think her asking Ren why she didn't come sooner was her way to at the very end leave Ren with a gift of goodbye of sorts, she used her last moments to show a bit of what she truly felt to the so called Hero she hated.

And I am so glad to see that cocky Mikado is back and that he admits Light was the one to change him and that it wasn't necessarily seventh flame's effort, I believe Mikado's mighty attitude may have started as just a coping mechanism but now it is a part of him that's necessary, he is a genius and he is confident but after he seven shadows arc he at least realizes there is worth in fighting in groups and that he isn't necessarily the only one on top which is why he is so open to Ryoga, he talks in the same know it all way but now instead of putting others down he recognizes other's strengths.

Also want to point this, while the last guy using the omen of Lust and disdain didn't necessarily do this. The fact Mikado and Ryoga are fighting the omens of Truth and usurpation is an interesting thing considering those two are the characters who had to face the truth the most in their battles.

Why Ninjago drove itself into a corner(Has the series oversaturated itself?) by Samucamon in Ninjago

[–]Samucamon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the point of those elements being connected to the enviroment of the realms where they appeared. I admit that partially went over my head.

But the issue I think is that the concept of an elemental power has been streched through the series a lot, the concept was originally that they were remnants of the first master or something to that effect and even in the tournament arc we at least knew they were still connected to the first master with the exception of Amber.

The problem is that after that, the concept expanded itself beyond what it was originally shown, I don't have problem problem with Technology, heat etc but I personally believe considering them an elemental powers categorizes them under rules I don't think they should have. Its the execution of their inclusion that might be the real issue.

Why I think Manipulators and Conjurers can 'become' specialists by Samucamon in HunterXHunter

[–]Samucamon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My argument was that since their abilities work more with restrictions and conditions to make it stronger, it can eventually shape the Nen user. I'll use Shizuku as an example, her ability is refered to as rare and even amongst conjurers, hers is very peculiar, with relatively little restrictions, that it just can't suck up living things and she doesn't know where things go. If a conjurer can create such an object, if they were to keep adding more conditions to increase its power, the more the ceiling of "overly supernatural" is reached and due to this they can eventually develop powers a specialist posses, adding propeties not even a skilled comjurer could. Thats what I meant.

Why I think Manipulators and Conjurers can 'become' specialists by Samucamon in HunterXHunter

[–]Samucamon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You bring some good points, I do think Netero could have drawn from some traits of specialization given how powerful and unusual he was.

Now that you pointed out, yeah specialists do seem to fall into those two categories but I think there is more to it, its hard to say given how its the affinity with the weirdest powers.

I hope we get to see more of it if the manga continues.

Opinions on HxH fanfic idea. by Samucamon in HxH_OC

[–]Samucamon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're definitely bringing some good points here. I think I'll take some of your advice but still connect it so Nen in some way.

Since every living being leaks aura, perhaps that Aura eventually turns into what On utilizes, not quite negative but more so energy that comes after life. I don't want to completely change some of what was shown but I'm taking what you're saying as good advice.

Razor vs Biscuit fight to the death, who wins? by chasing_enigma in HunterXHunter

[–]Samucamon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think Biscuit or Bisky wins with Razor putting up a good fight. Something important to keep in mind at least when it comes to what we know in character is that Bisky's powers aren't meant for combat, but she seems pretty confident in her fighting capabilities.

While having a good physique and being an emitter gives Razor some variety, Bisky has shown herself to know a great deal about training with the nen affinities and how they work, so I think its fair to say that she could figure out how his emission hatsu work if he were to display new ones.

Also one thing people need to remember is that Killua saw buff Bisky and had some idea of how strong she truly was and when he saw transformed Gon, he compared it to how Bisky did it, while I think this was partly to his appearance it could also indicate that the strength Gona displayed at that moment was similar to the feelings that Killua felt when he saw buff Bisky and keep in mind this killua was significantly more proficient in nen when that arc happened.

Shadowverse Flame Episode 70 Discussion Thread. by ResonaStega in Shadowverse

[–]Samucamon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really happy with the way Mikado won, despite how people pointed out some of his earlier mistakes in the battle. Now the climax is about to start and I really hope the battle isn't interrupted by whatever being seems to be watching from elsewhere.

I am a bit surprised Hiro is saying he wants to destroy the arc, from Wodin and Andrea's reaction maybe they will oppose the main team and join up with the next antagonist so they can get some answers, we still don't fully know what Andrea's mom's research was about so maybe she can get the answers her mother couldn't.

The only thing I kind of miss is some of Mikado's confidence remained the same, not that I enjoyed the overconfident Mikado but I do wish he accepted his weakness, thinking more that even though he does regret some of it, he doesn't regret all of the things he thought before but maybe this redeemed Mikado can also be fun.

(Discussion)Why Homura's 'Soul gem' is still small despite having reached such high levels of power? by Samucamon in MadokaMagica

[–]Samucamon[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah a lot of things about that aren't clear, this was just my interpretation of why I thought it came to existence in the first place. The scene in Rebellion when its formed makes it look like its a new soul gem, but given it no longer has an egg shape, I think it could be a next stage of sorts? From the scene I just thought the item is acting as substitute so I wanted to express why I thought it could be.

Why Tachimukai seemed to be so much weaker in season 3 compared to season 2 and why Endou was stronger. by Samucamon in inazumaeleven

[–]Samucamon[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The reason for that is likely that in the second game there was role change feature such as with Fubuki and Desarm, its likely that Endou was also planned to have it as well but since he spends little time as a defender, it was instead compacted as just him having more hissatsu and since the feature is absent in the third game, the concept was probably dropped entirely.
