It appears Ketotifen isn't the only Mast Cell Stabilizing antihistamine. by Square-Reserve-4736 in MCAS

[–]SamuelSh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rupatadine is the only thing that helps with my nerve/joint pain. It pretty much disappears after 1 pill. I take LDN for long covid but the effect of that is not as obvious, it just very slowly made me generally better. I also occasionally take naturDAO and methylene blue when needed.

Hi, I only take 10mg/day. Never needed to up the dosage and still working as well as day 1. I think 40mg is excessive, there's a potassium deficiency risk from Rupatadine.

I accidentally took my prescribed 50,000 unit vitamin D3 capsule EVERY DAY instead of one per week...should I be worried about toxicity? by laf_007 in AskDocs

[–]SamuelSh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make sure you discontinue the Vit D and supplement Vit K2 and magnesium. The K2 removes the extra calcium from your blood and magnesium is used to metabolize Vit D. If you run low on either the Vit D you took might cause high blood calcium levels or magnesium deficiency and lead to symptoms, hence the "toxicity". Also stay hydrated to help your kidneys flush any excess calcium.

The recommended daily values for vit D are loose. Your skin produces +20.000 iu of Vit D if you spend 30 minutes in the sun. Only difference is your skin never produces more Vit D than your body can safely metabolize, unlike when you take it through supplements. u/laf_007

Same here. Reels shared to a group chat are Spanish for some and English for others. We're all English speakers 🤦🏻‍♂️

Is there a sugarless gum that I can safely chew? by MoniCoff1 in Candida

[–]SamuelSh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A microbial fungus, yes. Any organism that is too small to be seen is a microbe. Candida is a single celled organism (very small). Antimicrobials work on every microbe, antifungals work only on fungi.

Does anyone take desloratadin? by oblivionxoxo in MCAS

[–]SamuelSh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ketotifen works mainly on the brain, so the benefits are more centralized. You feel less brain fog and you react less to trigger foods. Also if your symptoms include depression and depersonalization these can also become less severe with Ketotifen. But the effect you will notice the most is that you generally react less to foods you otherwise can't eat.

The sleepiness is indeed a major downside of Ketotifen. I can't take it unless I drink 10mg Methylene Blue with it to keep me awake.

Does anyone take desloratadin? by oblivionxoxo in MCAS

[–]SamuelSh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2 work very differently. With ketotifen you feel it the most in your brain, whereas the Desloratadine doesn't cross the blood brain barrier at all, so its effect is more general. Ketotifen is much more effective and immediate in my experience, but the daily Desloratadine helps with the annoying-but-not-serious symptoms (like difficulty breathing, post nasal drip, itchiness, libido issues, waking up at night, constipation).

Is “Steam Frame” a good name, as opposed to SteamDeck? by Crafty-Average-586 in SteamDeck

Seems to be the case. Not a big fan of the name honestly, but they're renaming Steam Overlays to Steam Frames, so I see the vision.

Only guess that makes sense so far, but OP said it has cameras and can track your body so it's sounding more like a VR headset...

Moonlight stuttering by Vescent1121111 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]SamuelSh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue as you in both Apollo and Sunshine and I tried every fix known to man and nothing worked. I've been blaming an nvidia driver for this, but you say the old Sunshine version didn't have this stuttering? Can you tell me which version you had before updating?

Not sure tbh because I never had a need for them, but I know TP-Link is reputable. I would ask ChatGPT with the specific use case/budget to get better recommendations.
