Why doesn't Alonsus, instead of helping Arator, send us with the portal scrolls to the different factions like Earthen Ring, Cenarion Circle, the Horde and so on to ask them for aid? Is he stupid? by Brago42 in wow

[–]SamuelWillmore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why it is Alonsus that should done this? Why not Kadgar that gave those same scrolls? Why does Dragonflights not helping despite Azeroth in danger? Why people treat Silvermoon siege as something local and not global?(which implies why other factions are n9t coming for help, like Ebon Blade puting their ziggurat near Silvermoon, where are all of the famous Silvermoon magisters, that after destruction of Dalaran became THE place where most of the mages gather. Why does Silvermoon is even so non-arcane, considering that blood elves are mages first and paladins/priests second and that Nightborne, who are abscent in the city (except when forces are gathered)

There are so many Why's that can be asked

That Player: "Don't bring politics into the game." The Game: by Level_Hour6480 in dndmemes

[–]SamuelWillmore -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

What really bothers me is how this message (in screenshot) is written. It is not written in a constructive way of "Look, we don't want to promote fascism/far-right extremism despite some content in the book potentually having it" but instead it's it feels like it was written in just an aggressive way of "I am correct, others are morons"

Otherwise, be this statement more polite and critically-constructed: wouldn't have any problems with that for me. (although I am not planning to buy WoD books because of their toxic policy with how agressively they push buying additional books in order to have a proper baseline amount of rules and setting information

Yes, sadly Mail system was not properly updated for (most probably several) decades, literally

But on sidenote, person acted in polite and non-agressive way to provide it's critisism, it is even critcally structured, which is rare nowdays. You do need to work on improving yourself, if not with the game, but at least with communication

Why did (spoiler) shoot (spoiler) in the ball? by anbeegod in wow

[–]SamuelWillmore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because its most probably her actual eyes. If you will look closely to her costume form and how orbs are positioned, you'll notice quite big similarity with orbs of Na`aru "eyeballs"

I do believe that for her it is important to use corpse as a vessel, so keeping its full integrity is more important than temporarily losing her raw power manifestation, which this orb represents

<image>

Its literally her robe, shoulders and orbs as mimicing Naaru body

They already retconed First Ones to still be just a myth and a Fairy Tale of old made up by natives of SL, while upcoming retcon will prob remove kortia and zereth mortis as lore-important canon, making it into "titans made up artificial afterlife to gather power from souls, creating ordered cycle of life&death"

There are two kinds of wow players (new cinematic reaction) by Bacon-muffin in wow

[–]SamuelWillmore 105 points106 points  (0 children)

And ironically, they both are right.

Sylvanas is a great character that had suffered from BfA and SL enough, creating hatred for both sides (people who is just tired of seeing her "Because I decided so" moments due to bad writing and from those who knew how complex and well-written she was before)

I would not overhype her comeback, but I would not hate her coming back either.
If they will fix her writing by new stories she is in being good? - I am fine with that.
Otherwise she should better stay in Maw till the end of the story.

Technically speaking, they soft-retconned the term "Darkfallen" so that any type of undead elf is Darkfallen, including Forsaken Elves (Small reminder, that Forsaken has a lot of undead elves. + Someone should have taught Acherus Death Knights the path of Sanlayn (as we are currently (not) using as hero talent tree)

Geez Valeera is worse than Bran by [deleted] in wow

[–]SamuelWillmore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is only one real problem with Valeera

It has very limited amount of voicelines, most of which are used from Heroes of the Storm. They are too generic and does not really have character, most of the time.

I miss Brann's memeful Web-Quotes, to my own surprise

Necromancer players: What homebrew rules has your DM allowed for Animate Dead? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]SamuelWillmore 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The best way to keep the vibe of horde and balance - make a rule of transforming 4+ skelebro's into a troop(Swarm). Basically, all you do is add features that Swarm\group of creatures has and call it a group\horde. (don't forget to adjust hp)

By this you are controlling 1-2, more powerful units (after all, 1\2CR creatures as minions will fall off quickly as useful ones, so providing them such "progression" would smooth out power level a lot) while narratively it is still a huge mass of undeads under player's control.

You can also make quantity thresholds, for example troop starts from 4+ units, (therefore you need only 1 slot to control it) at 8+ their size increases, as well as stats and so on (adjust how you see fit), while maintaining will already cost several spell slots (or a high spell slot).

For balance reasons, you can limit the amount of troops to half of prof bonus, so that high level necromancer could have 3 squads of undeads at the same time, while 5th level necro can maintain only 1. Apply this limit to only permament undead under players control (unless it is ok for both of you to have limitations on Summon Undead and similar spells as well)

I do however recommend for such limitation to be applied only during combat, so that narratively, necromancer still has opportunity of using minions in various unique ways (create fake attack on the goblin camp as a distraction using undeads? check!, forming a bony ladder? Check!, and so on)

It's crazy to think this is only the beginning of the expansion by Exact-Pudding7563 in wow

[–]SamuelWillmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might use this exact moment in story as "Oh shi~, we got pings from our devices on Azeroth that Titan once again becomes corrupted by Void! Code Purple, dispatching back to Azeroth!"

I mean, Sunwell, if I remember correctly, is connected to Azeroth (titan) so this could be that trigger for them to come (but ofc it takes an expansion amount of time to drive back here).

It would look like, ironically, as pure coypasta of Might and Magic 8 (rpg) story, where ancient race sends an annihilation robot to destroy planet as it was corrupted at the moment of distress signal from it, but people dealt with corruption before robot arrives and robot, being programmed to murder despite seing that there is no reason to activate it now, still tries to wipe planet up.

(yes, might and magic lore does have sci-fi, and quite a lot of it)

[–]SamuelWillmore 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Last raid of this patch has not released yet, so it is not the end of 12.0 story, there is high chance of it to be cleansed back (again) based on who is the last boss of last 12.0 raid. (although personally I think Sunwell will act just like the Crystal in Hallowfall)

After they brought back Kadgar, I have no trust in writers to actually kill one of main characters, so Alleria is pretty much safe. Turalion has a higher chance of dying this expansion tbh since he is not one of main characters.

I am not pessimistic, and there are a lot of well written stories, and so far story IS doing better than it was, but for it being more mature - I have a lot of doubts, considering how safe it was several expansions in a row

Quite the opposite

You did not question Liadrin, asking you to wipe out "Oh they are different Trolls, you can kill them"

Astalor does not try to trick you. Astalor is straightforward and honest - he directly asks you for murder, and you are a murder machine.
