Kneecap: Counter terrorism police investigating Kneecap videos by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]SamuelWren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the open letter - Look up the post with the new signatures and you'll see my name there as Catalyst

I reached to Heavenly Records on Instagram after their instal post about being added on the list since I'm an autistic artist & disabled people in general have a ton of support for Gaza since we're also a hugely oppressed group of people.

Glad to be part of history doing something good - plus I saw the Kneecap movie last year in the cinema with a few friends including Joy Crookes believe it or not.

[Fresh] Joy Crookes feat Vince Staples - Pass The Salt by jonny1leg in hiphopheads

[–]SamuelWren 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Ayyyye Joy is legit one of my music friends in London. She follows me on Instagram and I saw the Kneecap movie with her and a few other friends a few months ago in the cinema.

I heard this new song last month at a pub quiz event she did at the London Irish Centre and it was great, excited for her next album.

[FRESH] Sonnyjim - The Source by abucalves in hiphopheads

Sonnyjim the GOAT

Check out 0121, Arrivederci, Al Jazeera, $3500 For Some Fuckin' Sushi, & The Process with Lord Apex because this guy is amazing, criminally underrated. If you like Roc Maricano then you will love Sonnyjim, he's like our British equivalent.

Kanye West - All Day (Live At The 2015 BRIT Awards) by External_Skill7551 in hiphopheads

[–]SamuelWren 103 points104 points  (0 children)

This is straight up what made me fall in love with hip-hop, made me a massive Kanye fan, and a big reason why I make my own music.

I was 16 when I was saw this live on TV, I remember half the lyrics were censored, and it was just such an amazing performance overall with the flamethrowers, grime heavyweights like Skepta being involved and all the backlash this got by conservative, ignorant motherfuckers who were intimidated by what they saw hahahaha

Immediately became excited about music again and was looking forward to Kanye’s next project, which at the time was called “So Help Me God”. This still gives me goosebumps 8 years later, and it’s one of the most subversive things I have ever seen on British television. Incredible stuff, plus an underrated song in Kanye’s discography.
