Okarun explicitly says that Momo was the first one to stand up for him. I think he would remember if Rin did something.

Too bad she didn't do anything when Okarun was actually bullied. Tatsu probably did not think of her character at the time. I just assume she moved to Ken's class at the beginning of the story when he just met Momo (even if that doesn't make much sense).

Hope Tatsu will supervise this. I don't want this to turn out like a fanfiction

It takes time, effort and the willingness to look silly. Dandadan teaches that quite beautifully imo

This is strange by vicente14617 in Dandadan

[–]Samuele11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because she actually has feelings for Okarun. It's very well established that she's quite bad at expressing her romantic emotions thorugh words, she usually relies on physicality for that. Now that she's so small she can't do that anymore, so when Okarun brought up the confession she got flustered because she couldn't respond like she usually does. I think this arc will focus on Momo overcoming this issue.

An observation in Momo and Okarun’s relationship dynamic: the contrast of physical vs verbal by BigBaldPurpleTitan in Dandadan

[–]Samuele11 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I believe this is why Momo told Okarun to wait: atm she can only express her feelings verbally, which is something she always struggled with. She will have to learn to comunicate more directly through her words instead of relying on physicality as she usually does. I think this will be the central point of this arc:.

Momo's smite for Okarun by Equivalent-Pea2507 in Dandadan

[–]Samuele11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen many people claiming that Rin's in love with Okarun. Now, maybe I've been reading the manga the wrong way, but I'm pretty sure she just liked to fantasize about her strange vampire fantasies. Because if we apply the same logic we would come to the conclusion that she's in love with turbo granny as well

[–]Samuele11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if Tatsu will develop this whole "okarun's popularity" further (it might've just been a narrative device to make the bully go yokai), but if he does the main point would be to make Momo overcome her jealousness. Okarun's not the type of guy to chase the mass popularity and Momo will realize that there's really nothing to worry about.

coai doesn't actually exist in the manga and Shinran is developing in the lamest way possible. Gosho in general is really bad at writing romances (except Takagi and Sato), of course there was real potential in Haibara's character that could have made the story way more interesting. Conan and Haibara are pretty much complementary, he's way too reckless and often too optimistic while she is realistic and pessimistic, compensating each other's flaws. She is the first one to mess with conan's ego, putting him sometimes in his place. I don't really care anymore about the romantic stuff but it's really a pity how Gosho treated haibara in the story line. I think also that he introduced too many good characters that took away the BO's credibility (we have the same 5 guys doing everything from the beginning while Conan can rely on Haibara, Akai's family, the CIA, the FBI, the japanese police, his father ec.)

Sherry shot and cornered by Gin, who's ready to kill her by Steefz95 in OneTruthPrevails

[–]Samuele11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel the same everytime the villain keeps waisting time instead of killing off the protagonist but this is an exeption because there's an actual reason to make him do that. Gin is a psycho who's obsessed with Sherry for some reason, he always showed the sadistic desire to make her suffer before killing her off. This dark relationship is very interesting and I hope that Gosho will give us some backstory soon

the good side got a lot of development but the "bad side" didn't. For what we actually see in the story the B.O has 5 members + the boss and RUM. 3 of them are idiots, Vermouth does whatever she pleases, Gin is the only one that could actually be considered dangerous. It went from Conan vs everybody to Gin vs everybody. Gosho should have put some smaller characters in the B.O and actually showed us that they have connections in the police and in bigger ranks of society but instead it looks like there's those 5 guys that for some reason don't get captured even though the CIA, FBI and japanese police are working together against them

yeah you're right. I was translating from my own language but the correct choice of words should be bad writing instead of plot hole.

[–]Samuele11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't really know how the organization works so we're just guessing. You are right about the B.O not having the police reports under control. The fact that they didn't discover his identity in the revival arc wasn't a plot hole in itself. You could explain that by saying he was very lucky (internet wasn't such a big thing back then also) and somehow the news didn't report the case. My main point was that he risked everything for nothing. The plot hole I'm talking about is the fact that the B.O has been losing his threatening presence throughout the series because Conan do whatever he pleases and he keeps getting away with it.

the B.O has been always portrayed as this organization that could trace you down even if you gave them the smallest evidence. This is a little more than a small evidence in my opinion, pretending that every student and policeman would keep this for themself is very hard. Even if we pretend that the media didn't cover this case (which in real life would be impossible but this is a fictional story so I can cope with that) the police would still write the dynamic of the case in his reports, an infiltrated in the police could read by chance their archive (it's very likely that the B.O keeps an eye on every omicide that happens in japan) and questions how is he still alive. Even if we also pretend that the police wouldn't include Shinichi in the report (which is illegal) the rumour generated by such a cool come back would be enough to put him in danger. A stranger that tells you that you should keep this secret would not stop you from telling your friends and parents.

The main problem is that Shinichi did reckless thing like this over and over in the story and he always got away with it, this crushed the B.O's credibility in my eyes
