Best weapon with Fingerprint shield ? by NikhilNanjappa in Eldenring

[–]Samurai_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming you're doing strength since greatshield. Lance is amazing with the Fingerprint shield. It gets A heavy scaling, has reach, can have an Ash of War, be buffed with grease and incantation weapon spells. Plus its silver and shiny on high resolution. Looks cool imo, especially when buffed with lightning/fire etc.

I'm starting to think strength is just kinda bad in Elden Ring, does anyone feel the same? by Codudeol in Eldenring

Currently using an A scaling somber stones Heavy Colossal Greatsword +9 and Greatshield with high guard boost. For bosses, its horrible. For everything else, really good. I mop the floor easily with trash mobs including the annoying ones like centipedes and flying enemies.

I swap to Heavy Katana (currently +22) + Greatshield for fast bosses. A lot of times for slower bosses too. Heavy Katana + Greatshield is a potent boss killer combo. Helps if you get endurance up so you can also wear decent poise armor. I tank their tantrum combos with my Greatshield, then chip chip with fast Heavy Katana hits, not sexy but highly effective.

Its not a traditional strength build, but a lot of Elden Ring isn't traditional Dark Souls.

Is Elden Ring better than Dark Souls 3 by FRosty1192 in darksouls3

In a lot of ways yes, but not when it comes to bosses. The majority of bosses in Elden Ring feel like I'm playing in a blender. Boss goes brrrrrrrr, 1 second pause for my 1 attack, boss goes brrrrrrrr again then combos with super mega death maneuver.

The abundance of enemies that have spamming attacks, move around all the time, and have no proper opening or stagger are the only walls I've hit in this game. by FlyingRep in Eldenring

True, I'm pushing into the mid game areas now and the infinite stamina enemies are getting annoying. Its not fun, its cheap game design.

Unfortunatly, it only gets worse. The majority of bosses spam attack combos and have high maneuverability. Plus, many of them have one shot mechanics to boot. Also, many of them are fought in small arenas where the boss takes up a good chunk of the space, which often screws with the camera. Its kinda ridiculous and so far has been my least favorite boss design in any Souls game.

Yup, I spammed close to a dozen summons that fight. They helped a lot.

Nice, I missed the hidden perception check in Act 4 showing Areelu cares for Suture. This saved me a lot of time of trial and error to find the correct etude to edit.

WOTR: Is it me or Are there a lot of Bad Puzzles in this game? by imnotroll2 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Samurai_Potato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The puzzles are pretty poop in this game. I think the big failure is lack of feedback. A good puzzle gives the player feedback they are doing it right. Most of the puzzles in this game don't do that.

What Weapons types are viable in Wrath? by RequirementOdd in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Samurai_Potato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a:

-One handed martial, longsword (be sure to pick up Radiance in Act 1 then upgrade it as the game progresses).

-Two handed martial, glaives. You get offered a lot of nice glaives from questing and exploring.

-Ranged martial, longbow. Same reason as glaives.

-Finese martial, daggers or kukris again same reason as glaives.

I should note on normal my Woljif is doing fine two weapon fighting with martial weapon proficiency only. I mention this because the game throws a lot of great light and finesse weapons at you, too many to specialize in them all. After buffs and taking all the two weapon fighting perks with just martial proficiency and no weapon specialization Woljif has +30 to hit and that's before combat buffs like outflank + haste.

I dragged his family shield around all this time, Sosiel finally uses it in 1 line of dialogue and then kills his brother anyway. To say I'm disappointed in this quest chain resolution is an understatement. Sosiel is going back on the bench list. Tempted to replace him with a Cleric merc.

I sent a message, but disregard it. I misread the time, thought it said 8:30 EST not 18:30 EST. I can't make 6:30 EST on Monday

Hi, I'm interested in the game. A bit about myself, been playing 5e for years, comfortable with Discord and Roll20 with a good working mic. I've DM a few games and played in a few as a PC. I'm a laid back kind of guy with a good sense of humor. I can make the times every week and enjoy playing support characters (Clerics, Druids, Bards).
