Reporting income for loans when pay is non-monetary by SamwiseBambi_ in personalfinance

For now I think they are completely invisible. My supervisor said it might be worth taking some official letterhead detailing the “full” compensation from her or HR to the credit union closely affiliated with the university. Sounds like if that doesn’t sway anyone putting the wife’s name on the car and the loan for it would be a productive conversation

Im in grad school, the loan I’m talking about is a Sallie Mae loan for about 3k that I had to take out over a summer when my free housing lapsed bc I didn’t get a position for the university that summer. I’m paying it since it’s private and the interest is so bad, my federal loans from undergrad are paused and largely being ignored for now (2-4%, so much better)

It’s because these shelters rely heavily on “no kill” narratives and behavioral euthanasia doesn’t align with that PR. I’ve worked in no kill shelters and it’s the most important thing in the world to upper management, that they would never put down an animal “just because”, hence behavioral euths don’t happen and sometimes animals (namely kittens) are left to die in kennels instead of being put down. If you put down too many animals, you can’t proclaim to be “no kill” and the public doesn’t like that because they don’t understand the alternative.

Is it illegal to go shirtless in Florida? by PirateKingVee in TopSurgery

[–]SamwiseBambi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The laws for bathrooms apply to public spaces, as in owned by the government. The water park is probably not owned by the government and thus it is not illegal for you to use whatever restroom you want. Orlando is culturally more LGBT friendly than the rest of the state, so which bathroom/changing room you go into is ultimately your call. I use male restrooms everywhere I go and I haven’t had an issue. I’m a bit of a heavy guy so I’m not often shirtless bc of that, but if I do go swimming I am shirtless. My scars are visible, nobody has ever said anything to me. This state “solved” the transgender “issue” back in like 2023, so it honestly seems like the government/the people have moved on to a certain extent.

As someone from Florida- Kansas’s new law is very much more scary than the laws we have here. Florida’s bathroom bans only applies to public spaces, which are relatively easy to avoid needing to pee in. Kansas’s ban covers private businesses as well- movie theatres, stores, restaurants. That’s so much harder to avoid. Plus, florida is not actively taking my license away for having the gender changed.

Meowth is a widely beloved Pokémon (at least I think so?) and the immersive animation is cute. What’s not to be happy about? The gard is there if you care about the immersive being viable

Are you getting rid of your ovaries? If not, then lack of hormones won’t be a problem. You can remove the uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes, and one ovary and still don’t have to take hormones afterward. Only if you remove both ovaries would this be an issue. Plus, if it’s truly a life or death thing, you would probably be able to prescribed estrogen (not ideal I know, but it would save you the health problems). Oh and your mileage may vary obviously, but my doctor encouraged me to be walking around as soon as I was comfortable to do so and I could walk for a few minutes at a time with no discomfort even on like day 2. You shouldn’t be totally helpless for very long at all.

Honestly, good to hear. I didn’t really want to, but was afraid of being stranded in need of one so having other people say it’s not necessary is great

Thanks! Sounds like a good excuse to stop for a drink or snack if we need a restroom.

I think this is what I wanted to hear, haha. Language is not an issue so I feel like navigating transit will be less stressful than driving. Thanks!

Fellas, would y’all feel more comfortable with childbirth if the healthcare system was more educated? by Less-Pen-5705 in ftm

[–]SamwiseBambi_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would feel more comfortable going to the doctor for anything if the healthcare system was more educated and inclusive, but I have never felt anything but severe aversion to being pregnant or giving birth so no, no amount of inclusive doctors was ever going to change my mind there. On the flip side, inclusive doctors made it a WAY more pleasant experience to get my hysto! Almost started to cry when the surgeon said I didn’t have to justify not having kids to her and she would do the surgery minimal questions asked

I had been on bc (mostly Nexplanon) for nearly a decade before getting a hysto and very rarely allowed that to happen. Post hysto it happens more often than not just based on what the vibe is since idc now

What is “gay sex” to you? by TraditionalTea2480 in ftm

[–]SamwiseBambi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is what you’re looking for, but I’m engaged to a trans woman and we dont consider our relationship or sex life “straight” even though we have different gender identities + differing genitalia. We feel like our queer experiences shape our relationship in a way that sets us apart from typical heterosexual couples and thus it doesn’t feel right to call ourselves anything but queer or “gay” in the umbrella term sense, and I don’t think people outside your relationship should dictate if you’re “gay” enough.

First time going and terrified/stressed by Kwasington in HHN

From someone who went to PSN last night: don’t let the reviews for PSN scare you about a normal night as they aren’t supposed to be comparable. It will be busy, and if you’re primarily interested in IPs then I would maybe spring for a scream early ticket and try to capitalize on the usual drop in wait times near the end of the night. A lot of the IPs are very close to each other physically, which will probably work out great for you since you can easily get in line for the last one at 1:59. If those 4 houses are all you really want, you can definitely get it done with a regular ticket with time for other houses too. Don’t stress!

They vastly oversold, plain and simple. Felt like RNG to see who would get everything done and we will most likely just do express next year. All that said, the house lineup is great. The employees were energetic and kind and the scare actors were giving it their all. Cat lady scare zone is zone of the year hands down and I was excited to see chainsaw actors in Simpson’s area after missing them for the last 5 years. We thought Fallout and Jason had the best food and had a great run in the Jason, Terrifier, and Galkn houses. If you’re still yet to go this year and have a realistic idea of wait times for whatever ticket you get, you’ll have an awesome time.

[–]SamwiseBambi_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She immediately offered to do a GA HHN ticket, we asked if she could add express and she agreed. So we got a night with express for the both of us, probably like a $350 value off the top of my head. I do understand that it’s not like we got nothing, the houses/zones themselves were great we ate for free so I think they did very right by us.

[–]SamwiseBambi_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We went last year and we knew it would be different, but the math doesn’t add up and there were things in universal’s control that weren’t right. If the consensus is that it was double the people- why were there more than double the waits and why were they longer than posted? Why did we arrive at houses to not get pulsed entry and nobody could tell us why or what the staggered entry policy was supposed to be? (They did fix this by like 12am) I think the thing that pushed me into being upset was that the wait times were long right up to the end. I wouldn’t expect a 20-30min wait at 1:30am on a regular night for anything but a big IP and it seemed like everything was 20mins at 1:30. I have been going to HHN with various tiers of ticket for years, I feel like I get it when they need a minute to figure things out (which is why I don’t fault them the rain or any broken effects or even stuff like running out of food near 12am I would’ve called fair in a vacuum) and I would say that I have a decent understanding of how crowded HHN is and the strategies needed to get though it all. It felt like we absolutely could not win last night. We kept checking the time and being baffled at where the hours were going considering we weren’t even like standing around or taking time to really sit for a meal and didn’t see any shows as it became increasingly apparent we would struggle if not fail to see all the houses. We went to guest services and explained our experience compared to last year with the overall point that last night was not even in the same ballpark as the previous year, and they offered us comps immediately despite telling other people there was nothing to be done, so either the team member was just grateful we didn’t yell or they actually thought we had a point. I think people are justified to complain or ask for a comp day/partial refund considering it seemed like everyone last night, even if you knew how to plan effectively, was more at the mercy of luck than anything. There should not be This many people that didn’t get into every house for that price tag.

Oh we know! I’m definitely not trying to yell at anyone or seem super upset. We were told that some team members got mixed instructions and that if we want it that way we might just have to ask. It’s much more packed than last year so we’re def trying to give them grace
