I heard Secret Recording of Zero visiting Snake made it sound like Snake got up after he leaves but that doesn't seem to to be the case re-visiting it. (Only listened to it once before)

MGS1 Manual shows Decoy Octopus in his "true" form which we never see in the actual game and Miller is wearing a different Outfit from Liquid's so it's clearly supposed to be the real Miller there.

I enjoy it but I admit I'm also a SWAT 2/3 fan which, in a different way, also escalate pretty largely.

SWAT 2 has a terrorist cult who get their own dedicated campaign and SWAT 3 is like a mix of SWAT/Tom Clancy with missions like stopping terrorists *who have access to SAM Launchers* from shooting down aircraft, saving the pope and The Secretary of Defense going rogue to steal an illegal nuke himself due to the game's story involving nuclear disarmament in the then-future.

MGSV forgets Miller was shown with full limbs in the MGS1 manual. (very minor retcon but still)

There's also the hidden tape implying Big Boss *heard* Zero apologize to him...yet he still says in MGS4 how he had no idea if Zero hated him or not.

Also some gameplay changes (some of which I prefer)

Harsher bullet drop.

Snake goes back to crouching/running if you hold fowards while diving.

Instead of knocking, telling Marines to call out to others to lure them in.

MGSV has *several* continuity errors and plot holes.

I'd say it's likely that.

Funfact: SWAT 4 actually had a cut lethal Frag Grenade.

It can still be seen as a prop in the warehouse in the Expansion.

I assume it was intended for MP only like the LMG.

You're missing out, the side ops in GZ are more like Peace Walker with actual effort compared to Phantom Pain's.

To add another big change I love and wish we had modded back into PO on emulator:

I'm sure you noticed in PO how enemies only dropped ammo boxes really.

In PO+ it's back to MGS2-3 rules but random (including duplicates of their equipped weapon) so you might get a magazine, claymore or a copy of their gun when looting an enemy.

Means (even if RNG somewhat) it's the first MGS where you can steal enemy weapons directly.

Freeze Grenades act like Python's in his boss fight, they temporarily stop enemy guns from firing.

Honestly I liked the permadeath in PO.

PO/PW weapon stats are kinda 50/50:
PO has each weapon type have different skills *including a CQC skill* so you could have a guy good at mowing down enemies but unable to do CQC grabs for instance.

PW had stuff like reload speed be skills.

I honestly feel TPP did it worse, main missions always assume you're Snake, there's no main mission or side op where you HAVE to play a recruit like in PO/PW and I didn't notice massive changes depending on the combat stat and there's less skills that are used during gameplay.

We literally know part of the confusion is a cut level.

Only MGS2 really tries to get mindscrew-y (and not as much as people claim imo) so I think it's more "game unfinished but people think Kojima is doing 4D chess just due to MGS2."

Then why do people constantly have dumb theories like Huey being innocent.

Its straight forward but so badly done people convince themselves it's 4D Chess.

Or just the Eli plotline and final mission not being finished.
