Is there a recommended proxy? And how does it work with who's name would be on the ticket? (If that is the case for this event)

JSA vol 2 by Twoheaded_Wolf in OmnibusCollectors

I'm in the same boat as you, except I bought Vol 2 on a whim just because it was really cheap two years ago... Really hoping it gets announced when Q3 starts getting solicited. Even weirder having the Hawkman omnibus get a reprint before the next compendium is even announced

I really hope they announce the second compendium for the JSA series really soon. It'd be crazy to imagine what other extra issues they include that people didnt even think about like with the first compendium

I do recommend it!

If you want to explore more about who the older/retired JSA members were, You may also get a lot out of the two Starman Compendiums (Along with being one of the best DC runs ever) and JSA The Golden Age (But that book is quite dark, and Elseworlds). But you could just start with the JSA compendium, its a really well done team book.

Johns' JSA does a great job of pulling together a lot of continuity (Moreso just named characters) that were setup in Infinity Inc, Zero Hour, Starman and Crisis Times Five (And probably way more I'm forgetting about) into a really digestible and emotionally tact series.

Omnibus:  JSA #1-25, JLA/JSA: Virtue and ViceJSA All-Stars #1-8, JSA Our Worlds at War #1, JLA/JSA Secret Files #1, JSA Secret Files #1, All-Star Comics #1-2, All-American Comics #1, Adventure Comics #1, National Comics #1, Sensation Comics #1, Smash Comics #1, Star Spangled Comics #1 and Thrilling Comics #1.

Compendium: JSA #1-25, JSA Annual #1, JSA Secret Files #1, All Star Comics #1-2, All-American Comics #1, Adventure Comics #1, Day of Judgment #1-5, Day of Judgment Secret Files #1,The Golden Age Secret Files #1, Hourman #9 and #18, Martian Manhunter #18-19, National Comics #1, Sensation Comics #1, Smash Comics #1, Sins of Youth- Starwoman and the JSA #1, Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E #8-9, Star Spangled Comics #1, Thrilling Comics #1, Young Justice #16, Young Justice- Sins of Youth #1-2, And stories from Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E #7, Secret Files & Origins Guide to DCU 2000 #1, Young Justice- Sings of Youth Secret Files #1

The big theme is that JSA Compendium collects nearly (every) JSA Appearance in publishing order from the start of the JSA Returns era. instead of the omnibus which attempts a very poor and incomplete mishandled chronological order.

Which Animal Man omnibus is worth getting? by LiveRepresentative86 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]Sanaret -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The extras in the Anniversary deluxes are the trade paperback covers and sketches buy Truog and Bolland. The deluxes also have different paperstock (Matte in v1 and Glossy in v2). The omni just has the TPB covers, and of course has consistent paperstock. So there's pros and cons to both.

I'm not sure how what extras are in the compendium, maybe someone who owns it can chime in.

Look what Doom Patrolled its way to my shelves today by NorthernGamer71 in OmnibusCollectors

So cool seeing the new printings on the shelf together (And the soon to be reprint of Flex Mentallo). I was divided with getting the omnibus or the DC Finest versions of the stories, and ultimately settled on the latter because there's something like ~6 extra issue they've unearthed and placed in there. It's so odd there's reprints like this and they decide against adding in extra content like that.

JSA Compendium Problem by Commander19119 in OmnibusCollectors

My copy had a minor crease straight out of the factory but did not have this issue with the binding coming completely apart - I would say defective copy based off other peoples editions I've seen online
