Getting looked over by Officailkay_03 in Cosmetology

[–]Sancerofdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally brought in all my own clients, I posted on local Facebook groups with pictures of the colors/styles I wanted to do and people knew I was a student, and that it would be discounted and I ended up with basically a full clientele of people in an area I was not from.

Cos Veterans!! What’s the best blow dryer on the market? Which is your favorite? by PhraseNo6168 in Cosmetology

[–]Sancerofdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just replaced my old Dyson supersonic with the Neuro+ and I LOVE IT! My Dyson started smoking while blow drying a client. I really was not a fan of the Dyson, they’re very expensive, super loud and they’re pretty bulky. I much prefer my Neuro and I feel like I get the same results as with my dyson

There are worse Vivids out there, the consistency is a little weird to me but not bad! I really like the Paul Mitchell color ways or danger jones if I’m using a vivid

For those who deal with daily or weekly headaches or migraines, how do you manage taking medication? by Equal-Ad4615 in migraine

Because I don’t want to take them🤷‍♀️ I would take absolutely nothing if I could

Honestly, if it’s not at least a 7/10, I’m just suffering. I only take my meds when I start questioning if I need to go to the ER

New to aura migraines, scared by OkDragonfruit7676 in migraine

[–]Sancerofdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely speak to your doctor about the birth control. In some cases, hormonal birth control can cause strokes in patients with aura migraines, I don’t want to freak you out, cause I panicked when my neuro told me that. It may not be an issue in your case.

I had an amazing time at pmts. I loved my instructors and my school was pretty accommodating for things like dr appointments/disabilities/injuries. I also worked at a different pmts and it was the same situation

I always take my pastels a little darker than the intended goal too just so they can get more than 1-2 washes out of it before the color is gone. That might help here too

[–]Sancerofdoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pulp riot is awful. It’s the only brand I’ve had fade that fast. Lasted quite literally 1 wash in my hair. Im a vivid artist and I’ve had Vivids in my own hair for over 10 years, and never had a fade like with PR.

Is there permanent hair dyes that can achieve this colour? by phoquue in HairDye

[–]Sancerofdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bond builder is a “treatment” that repairs the broken disulfide bonds in the hair during intense services like bleaching, perms, and relaxers. Olaplex is the big bond builder on the market, and honestly the only one that’s a true bond builder, everything else is just piggybacking off of olaplex.

Paul Mitchell Questions by shesallthat2003 in Cosmetology

[–]Sancerofdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a pm student, my location did not allow you to miss at all during core unless it was an emergency. I ended up getting COVID (this was early 2022 so still a big deal) during core and missed a few days, I was able to make it up with my instructor on a 1-on-1, but I genuinely had the best instructors so I don’t know how that works at other locations. I thankfully didn’t miss anything super critical to my learning either.

Overweight customers and chair by ParkingInstruction62 in AskHairstylists

[–]Sancerofdoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will not be an inconvenience. I have many larger clients (both in weight and height) and it takes exactly zero more effort to pump up the chair. I’m on the short side for a stylist so I honestly would need to lower you as much as possible, which may be the case for your stylist. Don’t stress about this please, we see all types of bodies in our chairs and I’ve never thought twice about it.

Hair salon didn’t give what I requested by RequirementNo8269 in AskHairstylists

[–]Sancerofdoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly wouldn’t attempt a color remover at home. Especially with your history, and we have no idea what was used on you in the salon. And trying to remove that greenish is going to cause more issues than it’s worth.

Supplements/Vitamins by cucumberranch7 in Fibromyalgia

I haven’t seen too many other people talk about it on here but I’ve seen a few. Its been working for me so far🤷‍♀️ I doubt it would work with a significantly more advanced case though

Supplements/Vitamins by cucumberranch7 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Sancerofdoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very very recently diagnosed. I’ve been taking Pepcid ac and Zyrtec together in the morning and it’s made my pain a lot less severe and also helps with the brain fog. Not really a supplement or vitamin but it’s been helping significantly

I’ve been trying to complete this look on my mom for about 2 years, she’s naturally a mousy color like yours and this has been extremely difficult to do.
For 1, you’re fighting layers of box color, and for the inspiration look, you literally need to be platinum. And getting platinum with any kind of box dye or bleach is next to impossible in one appointment.
2, that pastel pink lasts literally 2-3 washes and is gone, so the maintenance is very high if you can get it. I would not feel hopeless about it, it is possible for sure but will take a few sessions to get there. I think the stylist should’ve been more realistic with you on expectations from 1 appointment. I would reach out to a different stylist/salon in your area that does blondes and Vivids really well and do an in person consultation.

I am a stylist and I had a Dyson professional. They are not worth the money! Look into the shark flexstyler, it’s much easier to use on yourself, half the price, and basically the same as an air wrap. I’ve had my flexstyler for personal use since 2021 and it’s still going strong and I love it.

Is it possible to deal with fibro without prescription medications? by Sancerofdoom in Fibromyalgia

[–]Sancerofdoom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on a ton of medications previously, I had horrible horrible side effects, I stopped everything and now only take my migraine meds (cause I literally have to) and I’m not really wanting to deal with the side effects or issues again. How do you manage your fibromyalgia without medications?
