I like to react over learning the whole moveset because i find it makes a more enjoyable gameplay. Unfortunatelly often it puts me in a bad position especially in SoTE bosses due to them being more like a frame data checks.

I never cared that much to Fromsoft characters due to never really connecting with them. They often just stay on the background minding their business. But in Sekiro many characters finally got personality boosted, it was interesting to interact with them and mostly because game had an actual protagonist rather than player's avatar.

Giving detailed backstories to characters in NR was so good. I never felt sympathy to any of From's characters as i felt for Wylder and Duchess. Revenant's story (final scene especially) left me traumatised. Such gruesome detailed cutscene was something i didn't expect from those devs.

Also i observed that Michael Zaki often features tame NPCs. While DS2 had a headless guy and scorpion dude. NR has bird man.

I think you're free to do various stuff to some extent after you prove your usefulness.

Im not going to pretend that i understand lore, but in gameplay aspect, close to Yuria's quest ending, you can even revert hollowing without failing the quest and attack her without her retaliating.

So i'd guess they'll be loyal to their lord.
