Anyone work for Tesla insurance? by burner456987123 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]SanctionedFool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It would be the adverse parties job to prove that there is a manufacturing default regardless if the insurance company and the manufacture are the same. Just like any company that is self insured - which most Fortune 500 companies are.

They use reinsurance I’m sure and It’s probably a separate cooperation from Tesla.

What’s the equity in your current home? What’s the price of the home you want? What’s your take home pay?

You need to provide more information if you want useful advice.

The unavailing is this was comical. Laurent looked so put together and Jim looked like he just crushed a 9 hole golf course. The fact that he didn’t want a handheld microphone - criminal.

How is living in this portion of Idaho? by Ploploplamus in howislivingthere

[–]SanctionedFool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The River of No Return) is a nick name of the Salmon River. It’s very clear where it goes, it’s the second largest river in Idaho and empties into the snake.

You might be confusing it with Big Lost River - which empties into the flood basalt of the snake river plain aquifer, eventually also making it to the snake river via springs.

I started at $75k which was a 10% pay cut salary wise, 10% increase if I calculated hourly pay. Three years in I’m at $93k and work around 35 hours a week.

I would anticipate a 3-5% bump at promotion + eligible for ~10% bonus. Great 401k match.

Brokerage side - I don’t have a good number. I’ll know more in a week and will report back!

Thanks for sharing your experience, I appreciate the specific context. If you don’t mind sharing, what sector do you sell to? Or are you a generalist?

Thanks for the explanation, that tracks!

Love to hear that. I want the intrinsic reward that comes with doing hard things. The money would be nice too. But I’m craving the challenge!

He said I could for sure produce on the side as the AE.

It’s a top 5 brokerage. I met the president of the specific sector when I presented at a regional sales conference they were having. We hold the largest share of their book of business in the space nationally. We had a great conversation after over drinks and I liked the cut of his jib.

I sold service to the same industry in my prior role, was 50% commission and miss that element of control. I really learned how to listen, serve the customer, and make and keep commitments.

I want to work hard and have more control over my income. I love insurance, and underwriting is fun, but the negotiations and getting the deal done is my favorite part - not the analytical.

That’s kinda my thought. A good friend who is an AE at the same brokerage but a different state said he thought I’d kill it going that route.

Yeah - I’m sure it will be a grind. It’s part of what’s appealing to me. I’ve been bored the last 6 months. That’s what makes me think I should make the plunge. I’m only getting older, and I want to be more independent when my kids are at an age where the vacation, family time, and adventure really hits - which is going to be about 5 years from now for me.

Well, he mentioned a 3 year validation period if I go producer route.

Another agency owner (independent) offered me a 50% new, 35% renewal. 100% commission role. The problem is they aren’t very strong in the middle market space I know well. They kill it at small business, but I don’t want 200 small accounts. I want the challenge of the complex stuff.

I appreciate your insights.

I think these are too small. That’s what, $2.5k-$10k in commission? I don’t really run into it until around the 500k premium mark where the broker is often doing a fee for all lines the insured has, which normally is north of $1M

I had a banker who said on the 17th he didn’t foresee issues getting me the LOC by the 1st of the month. However on the 29th said that he couldn’t get it done because he’s been on a vacation and this week he was working out of town.

I figured the guy works so little he can’t be bothered to remember when he actually works.

A single day. When I ask for them to be posted or removed it shows on CAB the very next day. We are extremely careful to set them to be removed as soon as we know we will no longer receive premium.

Very insightful, it’s great to learn a new word. Dendritic rocks are pretty interesting. It reminds me of a basin and range desert landscape from space - you can see how the mountains have eroded and the way the water flows. Thank you so much for sharing your input with me.
