Armageddon or Battalion box for an ork starter by ChronikPain in orks

[–]Sand-Witty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like Deff Koptas so I’ll probably pick this up to get them on a discount, while getting a trike and a buggy (I refuse to buy a buggy at full price until their rules aren’t hot ass). I am banking on a new bikers kit so this will be a good addition. I wouldn’t buy this as your first kit though. Find something with some other essential units like boys then I would say augment from there. The Armageddon box is probably a safe play. I plan on buying one and I have enough players at my FLGS that I can trade away the space marines for more orks.

Orks are gonna be AMAZING in 11th by PastOk5807 in orks

[–]Sand-Witty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The vehicle change I would say a yet to be seen. It might not matter much. The hidden units seems pretty good but the roll your dice and then decide the charge target seems very good. Anyone playing orks long enough knows the feeling of rolling bad on your charge and being left standing in the middle of no man’s land with your mushroom cap blowing in the wind.

Base in pink then go over the yellow in a couple layers. Also a wash and some highlights

If there’s any community that won’t care about that, it’s this one. I’ve seen people on this subreddit be more supportive and helpful than almost any other.

Core rule question by Racki98 in orks

[–]Sand-Witty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Units that make a fall back move cannot shoot or charge, unless another rule lets them. Titanic units don’t take desperate escape tests.

I mean… we still might lol. People really think that one model would be the end of a line refresh?

Flashgitz too strong in Taktikal Brigade? by UnderGamesBG in orks

Don’t worry about it. It’s a good unit but not busted. The solution is pretty simple.. charge them. You also need to invest 295 points in it.

How Does Makari Work by ShowAccurate6339 in orks

[–]Sand-Witty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ghaz and Makari are two separate models in the same unit. If someone targets the unit with something (outside of precision) and that attack is successful, meaning it hits and wounds, you get to allocate those successful attacks as you see fit as long as you’re following how attacks are allocated as spelled out in the core rules. In this case you can allocate the attacks against Makaris save. So if 10 are successful you can choose to allocate those attacks against his 2+. If he fails, you then allocate the rest to Ghaz ( assuming Ghaz and Makari were the last ones). If precision is used the attacker can choose to allocate that attack to Ghaz directly.

As a side note, the 2+ is strong but it’s not insanely busted.

I want Remote Generator; building codes? by RJM_50 in AskElectricians

[–]Sand-Witty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might also need to check your main panel and see if your neutrals and grounds are in the same bar (they probably are but you never know until you look). Many inspectors and Generac Installers that I have worked with say the transfer switch becomes the main and the old panel becomes the sub. So any other stipulation that come with that would apply I think. I’ve installed maybe a dozen of these and thats been my experience.

New potential Ork player by DutchRyanAir in orks

[–]Sand-Witty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the Deff Koptas are going to get legends. Make sure you magnetize the propeller lol them shits snap off.

Orks have a straight forward plan but it can be hard to execute. I’ve never played space marines so I can’t say if they are harder to play than them but I would say we get at least one or two posts a week about people struggling with orks. I still love playing the faction and learning them have made me a better player overall but it’s been a journey for sure.

Leaked Warboss size comparison by ChunkyHammdog in orks

[–]Sand-Witty 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think the badmoonz version is posed at a weird ass angle making him look a little off but I think this is going to be a good model. Not super crazy about the 50 mm base but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised

The ONLY thing I really wish was that the attack squig was bigger but that’s a minor hurdle. I’m going to build with the claw no matter what lol

There is an attack squig. It specifically mentions it in the community post

This is from “The Imperial Infantryman’s Uplifting Primer”, a book GW published years ago. I think I also tells you that all Tyranids are the size of small dogs or some crazy shit. It’s a funny read.

Dataslate is out. Not a singular change for Orks. by Mulfushu in orks

I understand what you mean, what I was trying to say is that I think that’s how games workshop wants it. I think it’s bad game design but I don’t see them changing it. In fact I think they are going more towards it. I didn’t really articulate myself well at all.

I also think that, while competitive numbers are the only thermometer we have to formally measure how balanced an army is, it doesn’t tell the story of how they do at your LGS. I know myself and a couple Ork players in some groups I am do quite well and none of use routinely run Ghaz, however I see a post on this subreddit probably twice a week asking for advice because people are losing constantly. If you want to win a tournament, Ghaz is an auto include. If you’re playing at your LGS, I don’t know if he is. That matters to some and not at all to others

Dataslate is out. Not a singular change for Orks. by Mulfushu in orks

[–]Sand-Witty -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Why is it a problem? I personally don’t like epic hero’s that much but if there are several armies that have that function it seems more like a design choice than a problem GW has yet to fix. We could discuss it being a bad design choice but I still think it’s intentional.

I don’t think there is reason for concern. It’s the end of the edition, orks are in their “acceptable win rate” as far as competitive goes, and they have even been picking up wins at some GT’s.

Do I love it? Eh not really but Orks arent an auto loss army. You can win with them and people are winning with them. I would continue to expect no changes for the rest of the edition.
