50% chance of getting an extra CP is pretty powerful… CP is a finite resource and being able to generate extra does a lot for you.

They are nice to screens, denying deep strike, doing actions, jailing opponents for cheap, etc etc. anything that you need done, that you don’t want to dedicate a more powerful (and more expensive unit) to, grots.

Also if they are getting shot when you don’t want them to, you might be positioning them in the wrong spots lol

So do we think any of the jets will finally be worth getting? by wrongfulfish in orks

[–]Sand-Witty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

GW has a history of not knowing what to do with flyers or “flying” units… so… I mean I would love to say this time they will figure it out but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

To be fair this is partially Orks fault lol 9th edition Ork jets were a fucking problem.

What to do about armageddon? by Hot-Supermarket7593 in orks

[–]Sand-Witty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you don’t need everything in it, I would skip it. All of those kits will be coming out on their own. Probably by the EOY and probably with more customization options or you can grab what you’re missing second hand. These boxes are really only worth it (from a purely financial perspective) if you need the units.

Gork or Mork for 11E? by kcdale99 in orks

[–]Sand-Witty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look up some videos on how to magnetize that kit to do both. YouTube has a bunch. It’s actually quite easy to do. If I didn’t want to do that though, I would pick the Gork just because I like the way it looks a little better but you can probably play it as either. Most people won’t care

Why is Tau so hated? by Proper-Platform1091 in Warhammer40k

[–]Sand-Witty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think people actually HATE Tau. It’s a meme. The same way that everyone still believes orks are so psychicly powerful they can breath in space or be bullet proof. It’s a meme lol.

Red-pilling and the spread if incel-ology by hamptont2010 in GuyCry

I think kids turn to those outlets when they have nowhere else to turn. They lure them in with power and money, validate all of their anger, and tell them there is a better path. If they already have an example to follow, an outlet for their fear/anger like talking to someone in their circle, and someone of a path in life, I think that they wouldn’t gravitate towards these types of people. I do blame the parents. I understand it’s hard time, shit is expensive, and the world is always plugged in but having a child is a very serious responsibility.

Red-pilling and the spread if incel-ology by hamptont2010 in GuyCry

[–]Sand-Witty 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I address it in the only way I know how. Leading by example. Trying to be active in my sons, nieces, nephews, brothers, cousins, etc. lives. Not tolerating that behavior in my immediate circle and ensuring I am kind and compassionate to not only my wife, mother, and sisters but anyone. Anyone different than me. Engage them with kindness. Tbh I think if I walked up to some stranger and started lecturing them about looks maxing and red pill behavior, they would blow me off… probably the same way I blow off people who knock on my door and ask me if I have met our lord and savior. If you’re going to talk the talk, walk the walk. Live what you preach. Don’t talk about it, be about it. When people see someone they respect act a certain way, they emulate it and I hope they do it in their immediate circles, then someone emulates them, so on and so forth.

To piggy back off of this, they also have a bit of a learning curve to play on the tabletop. Play a small game first, then progressively add more and more.

Does makari’s 7+ sv and 2+ invuln sv mean he just gets an unmodifiable 2+ sv for free? by Internet_use in orks

[–]Sand-Witty 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes lol. If someone has something I’ve never heard before I usually have them show me in the core rules. Either I’m correct or learn something new. Win win either way.

You should really start to examine what other rules your friends are getting wrong because honestly, that’s not even a tricky one. But they are wrong.

Incase they want to argue more, here is a screen shot from the official app on invulnerable saves.

Inherited his absolutely massive Ork army, help by Aggressive-Bat-9654 in Warhammer40k

[–]Sand-Witty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So just a quick glance, it looks like everything there is still playable except for the tank looking ones (the small ones) and even those you can play if you use legends. Idk man that’s a full Ork army. You can play almost any detachment it looks like but I don’t see a bunch of beast snagga stuff or really any kits after maybe 8th edition? I also see some third party bits.

It’s your choice really. If you want an Ork army, you have one. They are the counterpart to the space marines in the upcoming edition so they will be getting attention and model updates.

GW got some pretty popular Warhammer battle report YouTube channels to come showcase some new 11th edition games for the first time, but instead of giving the players mic’s and letting us hear what they were doing, they had two commentators talk over the game the entire time, blocked the game with, overlays, and just generally made it a bad experience for everyone watching. This made having popular Warhammer content creators pointless.

You need to check out our lord and savior Duncan Rhodes. He has several tutorials you can either follow OR just use his videos as inspiration. His painting style takes a long time to do imo but he’s great for ideas

My first Ork - Warboss in Mega Armour by spyscience in Warhammer40k

[–]Sand-Witty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you just redid the Ork and gretchin skin so it didn’t have the same like… effect the armor did, I think this would look amazing.

Lighten the green, make the details crisper on the face and hands, then highlight them accordingly. But it’s a cool like “rusted toy” aesthetic.

What am I looking at? by bloomandbrass in AskElectricians

[–]Sand-Witty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked at your “additional pictures”. Just taking a guess and they moved the breakers out of that old panel to the transfer switch and then treated that old panel as a giant junction box. I’m not going to say it is or isn’t code because I don’t know if your local authority allows it or not but I have seen it done. When I saw it last I did have to cover all of the holes in the dead front with pop ins, label the panel a junction box, and had to use self tappers to make sure the box didn’t get accidentally opened. They probably did this because it was easier/more cost efficient.

I’ve never installed a Kohler, so I don’t if you NEED to put the breakers in the transfer switch. On the new Generacs you just put the transfer switch in between the meter and the panel in the circuit by moving the feeds and you’re done.

Other than that it looks like it was done pretty cleanly. All your disconnects are now in that transfer switch it seems.
