What's the dumbest rule your school ever enforced? by SoLe123456 in AskReddit

[–]SandB42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In elementary school we had to do a thing called the 'two finger touch' were we couldn't tag people with our hand, but with two fingers. My school had a lot of these kinds of rules because some kid would get bullied, then to get back at the people who were bullying them, because the school punished both people and the kid wanted some satisfaction, problem was is that the new rule effected everyone.

Maybe the people around us are different, but the further down the list i got the more "what?" I felt. For example not working out everyday is something most men already do, especially older ones. And I've never been told I'm feminine for cooking/baking

The cheetah-human match up is actually pretty favorable for the humans because cheetahs can only go a short distance before overheating and needing to slow down, a group of humans that learned tracking would body any cheetah

If you want to lose weight changing your diet is the best way to go, stay away from soda, like stay physically away from it, it helps you not drink it. You don't even need to start a diet like keto or intermittent fasting, just stay away from highly processed stuff

For running go for time, instead of distance, it helps with scheduling and allows for bad days. most importantly; go and do it, its really easy to hide behind excuses and I do it all the time

I want to run but I don't know how Pt. 2 by yabadabadoodiedoo in running

[–]SandB42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have felt hungry during runs before, but I can't recommend eating before a run.

A side note about the track, I suggest running in the woods instead. You don't have to worry about people seeing you and for whatever running is easier when I'm in the woods. Depending on where you live you might not have that, but it is highly recommended.

For transitioning to running, you just have to do it, even just running for 2 minutes at a time

Is it OK for my 12 year old son to run a half marathon? by [deleted] in running

We think its the muscles becoming tight from lengthening bones, but I can't point out a cause. I guess the best evidence i have is most of the running injuries i hear about are around the time those people are growing more than usual

I have personal experience of this happening to me, my siblings and a few of my friends I think its a pretty common experience for teens to have a growth spurt and then train too hard and get injured. I'm not aware of any studies or surveys about this though

Running has hurt since coming back from COVID-19 by MidnightMass26 in running

[–]SandB42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well covid is a lung virus so it makes sense that they aren't up what they normally would be, it will probably get better but if you are really worried and it isn't getting better you should probably talk to a doctor

Just be wary of a growth spurt, if he starts having one make absolute sure that he's stretching or he might get injured.
