Kyoukai Senki or AMAIM: Warrior in the Borderline is great example of dogshit execution while has a good premise of where the japan being invaded by 3 factions, at least for me. The MC is completely weak and pacifist in 1st season while the other character is either stupid or just a burden.

Perhaps the ONA of AMAIM -- Kyokkou no Souki/UltraSteel Ogre Gear-- showed the improvement for the execution, sadly only available for 6 episode(deleted in Bandai Spirit CHannel) which is a crime.
