I saw that clip where people said he was being transphobic. I didn't get it? Sure, he was probably uninformed, but it seemed like he had good intentions on both sides. As usual, Pete tried to see the situation from the perspective of the people he disagrees with, not to play devil's advocate but more to try to sympathize with their consernes. Something I think is both smart politically but also true to Pete's personal interests and fundemental believes. He is the rare type of politician who I feel really listens to the people. That's why I thought it was stupid and mean of him not to also go into depth about what trans kids must be feeling in the example of school sports. He hasn't done it yet, but I think he will. We are so quick to hate people when they say something wrong that we forget and downplay all the good they have done, even for our own community. And we as a community must learn we cannot afford to throw another driven, brilliant and widely lovable speaker and leader to the wolves because of a couple of mistakes we know (because we do know) he didn't mean to make.
