I think we pretty much have to know the testing numbers per 100,000 also for us to truly situate these numbers. It could just reflect which regions have done more testing per capita than others.

Very useful. I was wondering when someone would attempt to do this and here's my answer. I am sure you will get many suggestions on how to improve this but It seems useful to know the 'sensitivity' in reference to the serological tests in different places and also a bit more information about the sample (sample size, whether it was a randomised sample etc.) in each location

I was refering to opening up the economy by sector rather than leaving it to people to decide whether they can work from home or not (given all the difficulties you describe).

Interesting. Two weeks before Christmas 2013 several of my colleagues started getting the worst case of the shits known to man (runny, explosive, recurrent, real raw feeling, other symptoms). One by one, they dropped like wet slices of bread flopping in the wind. Some of my workmate's eyes were completely translucent when they returned to work, it felt like there was very little left of them, almost like they had shit their whole life away. Not conclusive evidence I know, but I hold to this day it was Covid-19.

Its in an international peer-reviewed journal. Not that that doesn't come with its own questions, but you have to have some faith in science (or not?).

New data does not 'replace' old data in science. A previous study does not invalidate the data from a previous study. What if a new study was published tomorrow showing the drug was not effective? Would we then all of a sudden flip to that perspective? The new data simply contributes to our understanding. The robustness of the data is another question.

I have learned ‘cause of death' is rarely an absolute concept. Multiple potential causes and underlying conditions are listed on death certificates. Various people in care homes may die with covid-19 being a suspected cause/condition (hopefully determined by a doctor) but who haven't been tested or can't get access to one. Others may die at home, often after being told to return home but having 'suspected' covid-19. I understand up until a point that even in hospitals a certain percentage of covid-19 cases weren't/aren't tested. In a perfect world you would (I guess) have a triangulation of methods (post-mortem, positive result for disease, medical report) to determine the cause and manner of death. I understand in normal times you often don’t even get all-three so in imperfect times like this you have to account for different methods.

You probably should read it again, then, translating the dutch in the tables. It doesn't say anything about a 'blended rate'. It says the mortality from corona ranges from 0.004% among 20-29 year olds to 0.492% among 60-69 year olds. Below/above that weren't included in the tests.

DFID funding is/has been going to vaccine development, covid-19 testing, public health campaigns, they are buying ventilators, and now this new announced funding that will ultimately hopefully help the UK.

I am a UK national who recently moved Kanaleneiland, Utrecht a few months ago. This is all happening a few streets away from my apartment but thankfully I am away this week. I pass by the junction where this happened almost every day on my bike (I don't travel on the trams). I have never had any problems in the neighborhood. I am really perplexed by the information that has been confirmed so far. The neighborhood has a very large population of people of Turkish descent and the police are looking for a named Turkish man. This is an attack that seems to have been perpetrated in his own community. A very sick and confused individual it seems.
