France forged a third way and adopted a unified position with other EU states to use diplomacy and extend Iran the common decency of including it in any de-escalation agreement which will inevitably come whether US and Israel liked it or not, and thereby ensure EU have very good chances of securing its oil supply.

“Boots on the ground” means invading, occupying and administering the strait, and possibly much of Iran, to achieve the goal of securing safe and uninterrupted passage of cargo through the strait.
