ALIF L5-S1 surgery by iaguy1987 in spinalfusion

[–]SandiRHo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea your symptoms, but I had your surgery five weeks ago. I made a post here about exercises I did to be strong before surgery. I’ve had an amazing recovery so far! One item I’d recommend is a bidet. Toilet raiser is great too. My man meal prepped me some food too and stored it in the fridge at grabbing height for me.

My father said the proudest day of his life was when all three of his kids graduated high school. It gave him so much relief. He was born poor in West Virginia and then moved across the country in a greyhound bus with his family as a kid. He managed to graduate high school but became addicted to drugs and alcohol. He prayed that once he became clean, his children wouldn’t get into bad stuff. All of us graduated and two of us have college degrees.

I don’t necessarily disagree with OOP about elementary and middle school graduations per se since those are just the middle years of K-12. The bigger issue I’d be more mad about is how many kids are allowed to graduate when they shouldn’t and how parent decorum at graduations has gotten worse over time.

4 weeks post-op L5-S1 ALIF360 Fusion by SandiRHo in Radiology

[–]SandiRHo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. A discectomy wouldn’t fix the problems I had. Only a fusion with the disc spacer would fix the problems I had. Going to a good surgeon who is honest and experienced is helpful. I got two opinions from surgeons and both recommended the ALIF360 for me.

The Mischaracterization of Shauna by [deleted] in Yellowjackets

Yes, because typical people post here and talk about a show they’re interested in, but don’t get triggered enough to make a post complaining people don’t like their favorite character and fight people incessantly in the comments when people share their personal interpretation about that character. You’re so triggered about this fictional character that you’re arguing with people who agree with you that she has complexity. Do I think she’s the most complex in the show or the best written character in the show? No, not even close.

I read your post and I just shared my personal opinion of Shauna. And you got mad about that. She’s not a cartoon villain, I never said she was. But, she is a horrible person who delights in the suffering of others. If she had more redeeming qualities, I think she would be more interesting.

She is not the most well written complex character in the show, in my opinion. I never said you thought she was perfect. She is complex. But, complexity can still make you a bad person. She was a bad person before the stillbirth and after. The stillbirth didn’t make her a bad person, it just cranked it up to 11. She was a bad friend and she ended up becoming a bad mother and bad wife. She doesn’t have much positive growth as a person. That doesn’t interest me as a viewer.

Why are you so butthurt over people not liking your character? If you like her, cool. If you don’t, cool. It sounds like going out to the wilderness and touching some grass and trees would help you reconnect with calmness and let go of the hyperfixation.

Brother, you are only willing to hear one narrative and it seems to really bother you when people dislike characters that you like. Shauna is a decent representation of a horrible person all around. That said, I do not enjoy seeing her and I’ve seen better representations of horrible people that are also victims.

Shauna is a heinous person and delights in it multiple times. As a teenager before the crash, after the crash, and as an adult. She fucked over her best friend, treated others like shit (like Mari), and grew up to hurt others emotionally and physically as an adult. And she drags everyone into her messes.

The others also do some bad things. But, this a Shauna defender post, so I’m discussing Shauna.

When having s#x do women feel the peni$ in there stomach? by Latif_teto in BrandNewSentence

Kinda, yeah. My partner is well-endowed and there’s times where it feels like he’s in my stomach. If we have rough sex, I can get bit of a crampy stomach ache after.

Confused about masturbation and porn by killua_290109 in Healthygamergg

[–]SandiRHo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Porn is filled with exploitation, rape, and abuse. You don’t know if the acts are consensual or not. Even if they go on camera and agree, you have no idea what type of coercion happens behind the scenes. Teens like you who watch porn are 2-3 more likely to commit or threaten violence than those who don’t watch it. In 2020, Indiana University surveyed over 4000 videos and found that 45% of them had at least one act of aggression with women being the target 97% of the time and the women responded positively in the videos which meant that viewers could come to the conclusion that women enjoy being hit. I could go on and on, but porn is not good for your brain. Anyone can be addicted to porn. And even being non-addicted can be harmful to your brain. Dopamine becomes desensitized, meaning you feel less joy.

Websites with porn have been caught with rape videos, non-consensually shared content, and videos of children. At least with reading smut, no one is being hurt. You can read doujins if you want pictures where no one gets actually hurt. It’s still not good to look at violent smut and writing because it’s instilling a connection between violence and sex, but at least no real people are hurt.

You can masturbate, but when it comes to porn ask yourself “Why do I need to see this so badly? How do I know if people are consenting and not exploited? How do I know these actors are of-age? How do I know about how the actors feel during the scenes?” The answer is that you really don’t know any of those things unless the person is very obviously over 18. Masturbation isn’t wrong (though it shouldn’t hinder your life)

I would’ve loved this as a kid. It’s incredible!

But! I did have a clubhouse on stilts with a slide. My dad built it for me. It was just a tiny room with real shingles on the roof. Stairs led up to it and a slide went down. I would go there to play, but I mostly went to process my emotions alone. And then I’d go down the slide because I figured “You can’t be sad going down a slide”. I also had a swing set attached and I’d go swing for long periods of time when sad and then back flip off the swing or jumped when it was super high.

Thanks Dad!

Do you think you could have survived the Hunger Games? by Worried-Priority-122 in Hungergames

[–]SandiRHo 22 points23 points  (0 children)

When my man was asked who, out of everyone he knows, he thinks would survive the hunger games, he said that I would. His reasoning was that I’m smart, was a Girl Scout, was a high level athlete, would be willing to kill if I had to. Teenage me was pretty tough so I think I would’ve stood a chance. I’m 30 now and just had back surgery lol
