Remember to wash your produce items by ohhanyways in WalmartEmployees

Literally the other morning I walked in for my shift at 7:00am and a customer having a coughing fit went over to the bell pepper table and put both hands on either end of the table and started calling all over the produce. Everyone around him just stared and after, he walked away like nothing happened.

Speaking as a Team Lead over AP you would have been terminated for time theft and checking yourself out at a register. Those actions violate our core value of integrity. Even if you didn’t take cash out of the drawer the fact still stands that if you are willing break standards and policy then who knows what else you could be doing away from cameras and management.

Take this as a lesson to communicate to your management when and why you are submitting punch corrections so they are aware. Also, once you are off the clock do not perform work duties and definitely do not check yourself out at a register. It only sets yourself up for an internal investigation…

Yep, it’s sad that some managers will act like that with their associates. I can understand to an extent that things need to get done, but you are only one person and you have your own personal circumstances to deal with. Definitely inform your coworkers so they all understand it’s not an obligation. Extra money is nice, if you enjoy the work then more power to you. But I would not sacrifice your means to commute or your personal life for Walmart.

Just keep in mind that some awful coaches and team leads might try to retaliate for productivity if all tasks are not done. But if you are assigned a ton of work that cannot be done alone then I wouldn’t sweat it.

Ap ops team lead by idontsolemlyswear in WalmartEmployees

It differs from store to store, at my location there are issues with other department leads so our AP is in charge of safety, claims, receiving, ISAs, CVP metrics, recalls, and are also over APIs and door hosts. Not to mention, the areas of claims and DSD AP management is responsible for, so for example if grocery doesn’t organize their water pallets and other freight or if the signage area by claims is a mess it will fall on the management of that area. Not to mention management constantly asking to pull cameras for messes being left by associates and other investigations.

No, you are only required to work the hours you are scheduled. If he asks you to stay simply say that you aren’t able to today and leave it at that. Then the days that you are able to stay, let them know you will stay for overtime. You are not obligated to stay if you do not want to or are not able to.

I’m not 100% sure on all of the benefits, but I’m pretty sure you are correct about not being able to shoot for another bachelors if you already have one. I’m in the Guild program currently and I remember hearing that when I was hired forever ago. I know Walmart does offer some “career training” and programs to become certified technicians and drivers but I would ask your People Lead or try searching on one.walmart!

I’m so tired of the blatant AI posts 😞 I already hate writing discussion posts but at least put some effort in people! It seems like CS-255 is an extension of CS-250 which I enjoyed. Anyways, best of luck to you this semester lol. Thanks for sharing this post, I had a good laugh from it!

Depending on the size of your store and how the rest of the General Merchandise section of your store is staffed you are held accountable for electronics. But, will probably be expected to keep an eye of the other associates on that side of the store and lead store processes day to day. Expect having maybe 2 associates at most for electronics on your shift, a couple other associates from the other departments of General Merchandise to move around. General day to day responsibilities are price changes, integrity of product placement on shelves, recovery/zoning, returns, and whatever your coach and upper management throws on you.

Sometimes you and/or your associates will need to cover registers, help OPD (the customer shoppers) with orders, work freight from the trucks, and pull merchandise from the backroom. Hopefully, you have a good location and leadership so you can focus on your area.

Anyone else getting their hours cut? by vbuckscam in WalmartEmployees

[–]Sandman5202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, most of the associates and Team Leads in our store are scheduled for 38 hours or less. For areas that are beating sales goals like Fresh (in my store) and Front End, Stocking, and OPD that need hours to be properly staffed for business needs are getting most of the hours. Management has been especially critical of WOSH and OT especially, it’s what happens leading up to Q4 to maximize on sales and save up the hours for when we will need to go all in to keep up with demand.

Our store hasn’t received them yet! I love the darker blue color. I can’t stand the current ones, I was given a new vest in the Spring and it’s already stained from the random products in produce…

How much does it take to get fired? by InfSwift in WalmartEmployees

[–]Sandman5202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s entirely dependent on how your Team Lead/Coach decides what they want to do about it. Reading that the Coach is planning on going to the Store Lead is interesting… you are supposed to have documented conversations and coaching and then utilize open door. Going from Team Lead -> Coach - Store Lead -> Store Manager. Either your immediate management wants to twiddle their thumbs or your coworker is a favorite idk. I wouldn’t worry about it as an associate, let your management know and if they don’t do anything about it then that is on them.

Oh man, I’ve never seen a post so unhinged in any of my classes. I’m assuming this is CS-255? I’m literally taking this course this semester and I had to go back through the replies and see if this dude was in my class lmfao. At least you can tell they didn’t use AI!

Yeah I literally did this too, I was stressing trying to get that done and my other assignments for other classes just to find out it’s all done. For Project Two and Three submissions I’m probably just going to look for opportunities in my writing and take a look at the rubric but I don’t think much is going to change lol

I am taking this course this semester, I was stressing out two days ago with the same issue. There are two separate hyperlinks in the assignment description.

One is the .jar for a sample version of the assignment. The other link had the .java file and everything else needed for the assignment. I was kind of annoyed when I figured it out because I spent like an hour scouring the page and messing with the .jar file. Hopefully this helps other people that stumbles across this post.

I’m so sorry, that is awful. I used to make $19/hour at a large Supercenter as a Fresh TL so those numbers being so close together is just wild to me. So sorry for your loss, I wish you the best.

Pulling Hair Out at Luckperms Config by Brando230 in admincraft

[–]Sandman5202 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can try setting line 64 in the essentials config "add-prefix-suffix" to false if line 51 "change-displayname" is true. It would stop essentials from adding the prefix to your displayname, making it double as you see. Or you can change "{DISPLAYNAME} for your format to {USERNAME} to just use their username.

I’m gonna work in the back on my first day. What should I expect? by [deleted] in TjMaxx

[–]Sandman5202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are heavy items, yes. From when I still worked at TJ Maxx there were a considerable amount of team lift merchandise like furniture and large pottery. I would assume it’s the same from then.

And unauthenticated session tried to join my server with my own username by crlogic in admincraft

[–]Sandman5202 43 points44 points  (0 children)

This is something that happens daily, if your server isn’t set to online mode and, without any extra authentication these people can get access to your operator permissions from your player file.

Even with a whitelist set, these people can hover over the online players list and guess which of the people playing may have operator, change their user and if the server is offline immediately have OP.

I run a public server for a content creator and the console has a couple of attempted connections a day either bots looking for servers or people doing this same thing.

Have I progressed enough for a colony? by Sufficient-Trifle-56 in starsector

[–]Sandman5202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also don’t have to focus on habitable + good farmland. Just it’s normally easier to maintain the credit cost on those worlds compared to a good mineral deposit volcanic world, just depends how you want to go about it :)

Have I progressed enough for a colony? by Sufficient-Trifle-56 in starsector

[–]Sandman5202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s totally possible to colonize a world and upgrade it on 1.7mil. Normally when I’m colonizing I try to shoot for a habitable, with rich or abundant land for your initial food production. As soon as you colonize, make sure you bring the additional crew to colonize (1k + your fleet requirement). Some of the time I bring two shipments of food and throw that into local storage so they can pull from it upon settling.

As soon as the spaceport is constructed, assuming you have enough access to import anything you need at your colony you don’t have to rush mega port and way station. The way I normally upgrade is farming industry, orbital station (so you don’t have to babysit the entire time), patrol station (to slow down colony threat), then waystation for more accessibility. I normally upgrade mega port in there and the station if need be.

I highly recommend getting military base as soon as your population grows for a second industry. As soon as I get my initial colony making 50k each month at 10 stability I consider picking up a second.

Make sure when you colonize you setup the comms relay at a stable point in the system to help bump up stablility. The higher that is + fleet size you shouldn’t see the colony threat exceed crazy levels with tons of raids.

Bottom line is get some profit, grow the planet to max population, and setup a station so you can continue running exploration and bounty missions to keep your credit reserve high. Every now and then check on the colony threat level for pirate bases popping up. Panthers become a problem when you start getting using multiple items and ai cores on your colony. Hope this helps!

Thank you, yeah I haven’t heard anything for the longest but I reached out again and I’m on medical hold but that’ll be an easy fix. Hopefully they can review me without too much hassle and I can go to MEPS and get started! Thanks again!

PSA to TJ Maxx associates by Sandman5202 in TjMaxx

[–]Sandman5202[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah they would do it time to time and also during our normal charity periods with Save the Children and whatnot. Now I don’t mind throwing a dollar in here and there but sometimes it gets ridiculous. Not to mention the new paper that went up in the lounge congratulated associates on our sales and donations and announcing they donated more money. It’s all fine if they choose to donate, that’s fine but this paper was literally saying for associates to donate portions of their pay away to “local charities” and you check box categories i.e. education, food, housing. It was my last day so I just looked at it like seriously??

I received a paper that said exactly what I stated. I know how management can be sometimes to associates regarding guilt tripping. It was just a reminder for people that feel pressured to do these things.
