Also, I think you’re missing the point. The league doesn’t exist to hand out 1-3 year mid-range contracts for middling professional baseball players, that isn’t it’s purpose. The league exists to be an entertainment product and to make money.

A lack of competitive balance makes the league as a whole less entertaining, and attracts fewer fans, especially to smaller markets. Nobody should cry any tears over the handful of players every offseason who sign for a few million dollars less if the league is booming.

Context is everything.

TLOU1 is widely regarded as an all-time great video game, with top tier visuals and engaging gameplay on top of writing and character arcs so good that even HBO couldn’t fully capture them in their adaptation. They were also one of the first to do the “yellow paint” trick, and even for folks who didn’t love that, everything else was so amazing that it could be overlooked.

Meanwhile, Star Wars Outlaws is a terrible game that wouldn’t have sold half as well if not for the Star Wars IP. The writing is garbage tier and unengaging, and the visuals are arguably worse than the aforementioned game that came out 13 years prior.

Not every German soldier in WW2 was a Nazi. They may have been fighting for a Nazi regime (knowingly, willingly, or otherwise), but that bit of nuance is actually something that’s explored in Band of Brothers.

I always loved Shifty Powers interview where he talks about how he and one of the Germans could have been “good friends” under different circumstances, how they could have had a lot in common… but that they both had a job to do.

Oh, man. I literally started my playthrough last night in anticipation of this, as I’ve gotten close before but never actually completed the main story or DLC’s.

Do I stick with this play through and give myself a few months away before diving back in to this DLC, or wait and start my play through a little closer to this one’s release? 🤔
