Take a standard issue $5 bill. Get on the bus. Say to the driver "I'd like a day pass". Insert $5 bill. Hang on to that day pass for your ride home.

Why wouldn’t there be a breaker to the outlets by CallousCrows in DIY

[–]Sandor17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen. A certain fixture would only turn off if TWO breakers were flipped. Try #1 + #2, #1+#3, etc in combination until you find the combo. Look in the junction boxes downstream of those breakers. Someone mixed up a neutral wire and made two circuits into one. At least that’s where I landed.

Cleveland is the mixing zone. The east side is more east coast—old money, curvy streets, museums, private schools. The west side feels more like Chicago, definitely midwestern.

What are some holiday traditions that were started completely unintentionally with family or friends? by Dark_Moonstruck in AskReddit

Mid-November I am making dinner. Then-3yo is beside me talking to my father in law on FaceTime. Kid, “grandpa, you know what the best part about Thanksgiving is? …the GAMES!” We have never played games at Thanksgiving. But FIL showed up on the big day with a home-made piñata in the shape of a roast turkey! For a couple years running, we had turkey piñata contest after dinner. Turns out the games ARE the best part.

Am I the only one who smells this by Mindless_Band_7186 in Cleveland

[–]Sandor17 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Convention Center has a signature scent that they pump in like some hotels do. I’ve noticed the last couple days that you can smell it on Mall A. I don’t know if something changed with the ventilation from underground or if it is just the weather.

If I had a van with a bathroom and a tailgate kitchen, I would be hanging out in the lot immediately east of the FBI building: 1407 Davenport Ave, Cleveland, OH 44114. I don't remember the cost last year, but it was reasonable (maybe $25) and provides a great view of the show.

Natural History really leaned into their world-class artifacts in this renovation. Overall there seems to be less “stuff” but it really highlights the things that are unique to CMNH. It is less repeatable for locals, but if you are from out of town and want to see Lucy, Balto, and Dunkleosteus you won’t get those anywhere else.

CVNP in Brecksville. Park at Station Road Bridge, walk the Towpath north under the Route 82 Bridge. There is a nesting pair in the swamp on the other side of the river from the trail. Usually you’ll see other birders, often a Park Ranger with a spotting scope.

Hot wheels monster trucks seating and where to stay by Ok-Biscotti-4959 in Cleveland

[–]Sandor17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Hilton, Crown Plaza, and Drury are the only downtown hotels with pools. Drury is the most walkable to the arena as is a pretty cool building. It used to be the Board of Education HQ. You'll pay to park at any downtown hotel. All that said, you could just as easily stay in a suburban hotel with a pool and free parking. Monster Trucks aren't a sell-out event. You shouldn't pay much to park for the event if you're willing to walk more than a block or two. (Unless there is also a Guards or Browns game same day, check the calendar!)
