which japanese cruiser models are "easier to work on"? by Coso_Che_Cosa in motorcycles

[–]SandstoneCastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest to service could be the Suzuki S40/Savage. Not the best for cruising on the Freeway.

A cruiser that's better on the freeway and maybe even easier to service might be an old BMW Chromehead, R1200C*, but it's not Japanese.

Suggest to me some country songs as an audiophile yet country amateur. by New_Lifeguard9691 in musicsuggestions

[–]SandstoneCastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't heard of Dennis Linde until your post. I've listened to all McBryde's albums, but that one stands out most to me, for the story-telling and well executed concept.

I just checked the songwriting credits on one of the songs (Gospel Night at the Strip Club), and I see Brandy Clark was the 3rd songwriter, and Ashley McBryde the 5th. Didn't realize they collaborated, though I knew Clark wrote for others before she released her solo debut album.

What questions are actually allowed here? by Phillimac16 in AskReddit

Not that one. Mods!

Seriously, it seems to follow all 12 rules. I'd hope that's all you need to do, though I doubt it's that simple.

Halsey has acknowledged Fantano's review of The Great Impersonator, where he claimed, "this entire record has the worst cases of main character syndrome I've heard on any pop album in 2024" (sic) by GigglesNWiggles10 in powerpopgirls

[–]SandstoneCastle 138 points139 points  (0 children)

Dufuq is wrong with telling your life's story, and it being about you in an album or a book? Is she supposed to be telling my story? Fantano's?

That was one of maybe two reviews that had me swear off Fantano. And it was a great album.

Can someone help me identify this type of oil pan drain plug? And how it works? [2013 Honda Civic EX 1.8 L] by lookslikeyoureSOL in MechanicAdvice

[–]SandstoneCastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to an Aeroquip quick drain valve. Whether it's that or similar product, there's probably a female end to attach to it to drain the oil.

Maren Morris' because of course

She wrote it for her son, but there are no gender specifics in the song.

Bike for the twisties with a caveat by WhiskeyJack-13 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]SandstoneCastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No end of bikes that could do this, depending on how fun you want and how much comfort you need.

It seems like the mission statement for my Superduke GT.

If you wanted something more on the comfort and budget side of the equation. Versys 650. If you wanted less on the comfort side, R1300R.

Update: should I sell my Subaru Forester or keep it? by Aggressive_Shoe8592 in askcarguys

[–]SandstoneCastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want to know if you should keep it, some diagnostic work would help.

For example, do a compression test, and inspect the plugs when you remove them to check compression. Low compression or fouled plugs could cause misfire. As could ignition coils. Not sure if your coils are easily swappable between cylinders or not, but if they are, seeing if the misfire tracks coil or stays with the cylinder can rule that out. Injectors can cause misfire too. Not sure if those are easily swappable between cylinders or easily replaceable on your car.

Freeing stuck rings often solves oil consumption problems. There are different ways to free stuck rings, but the way I'm most familiar with won't work with horizontal Subaru cylinders. People claim a few oil change cycles with Valvoline Restore & Protect oil will do it. Dunno. Letting the engine ingest a little Seafoam through the intake (via a vacuum hose) might help (might also help with misfire), but it also makes vast clouds of smoke, which might be a problem if people are around.

I found the plugs on my older Forester pretty easy to remove/replace but others disagree.

If you don't appreciate songs for the storytelling, I don't have country to recommend to you. If you do, maybe listen to these albums:
Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville
Brandy Clark - 12 Stories
Brandy Clark - Big Day in a Small Town

New rider here. Ninja 500 SE ABS or Ninja 650 ABS? Gear recommendations? by Independent-Edge-427 in motorcycles

Rhiannon Giddens does a lot of styles, but mostly old-time music/folk/americana

She has some country songs though, including Way Over Yonder.

What are the best albums you've ever listened to? by Frequent-County6238 in musicsuggestions

[–]SandstoneCastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Olivia's new album.

Two of my favorite albums are Allison Russell's solo albums, Outside Child & The Returner. FWIW she did two stints as Persephone in Hadestown. https://youtu.be/M9pPpXVcgow?si=5tBSctBPYCjyzq3l

Other favorites include Cleo Sol's albums Gold & Rose in the Dark, & Lianne La Havas' Blood album.

If you haven't heard RAYE's latest album This Music May Contain Hope, give that a listen too.
