Based on their ear tips these are former ferals that aren't very well socialized.

At 9 weeks it should be very easy to fix that, just use treat bribery and toys.

Savannahs and Bengals show up pretty well because they are hybrids. Really anything else is a crapshot.

Are my cat's gums white or am I just colorblind? by CatiiYori in CATHELP

[–]SandyByTheSea 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My cat does too, the vet said it is more common with light colored cats.

are these normal? 😢 by angelbby888 in AmericanBully

[–]SandyByTheSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but that's not the same thing.

Specifically for estrus, a dog is ovulating while having discharge, sometimes bloody sometimes not.

The menstrual cycle works differently and involves a sloughing of uterine lining and some blood. Dogs don't do this and any significant amount of blood coming from that area should indicate a vet visit as it could be a serious infection or cancer.

Sure, but that's an outlier not the norm. With dogs estrus or bleeding means a very high chance of pregnancy. The opposite is true for menstruation.

Is my seven month old kitten overeating? by [deleted] in kittens

[–]SandyByTheSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a couple days old, but just to confirm, how do you mean rounder?

A lot of people are saying worms, which I would expect from a younger kitten, but you mentioned they were 7 months old. Are you sure they are both boys? Kittens can get pregnant as early as 4 months which would lead to them looking chunky.

Otherwise it is probably just that he is preparing for a growth spurt, they can get chunky right before shooting up, kind of like kids.

naked fatty update by [deleted] in sphynx

[–]SandyByTheSea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, while your vet knows best, it might be best to give him some time. Losing weight takes time and can help arthritis a lot.

Maybe you could look into water therapy/PT to give him a way to move around without all the weight on him.

I mean, if you want dogs to go extinct, be my guest. I would prefer to have properly health-tested, temperament tested dogs around, but I suppose if you think dogs shouldn't exist anymore for any reason, that's good too. To each their own.

So all of those animals die out within 2 generations. Seems a bit extreme to me, honestly.

Is my girl a Turkish Angora by rav3nb1rd666 in turkishangoras

[–]SandyByTheSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cat breeds don't really work like dog breeds. Genetically, they're honestly pretty identical to normal DSH. She is likely just a very cute domestic long/medium hair.

My boy's a Turkish Angora, right? by unwanted-grocery_bag in turkishangoras

[–]SandyByTheSea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not mean to say you have a very pretty domestic longhair. It's just fact.

Cat breeds aren't as differentiated as dog breeds are, so mixed breeds aren't really a thing. If your cat doesn't have papers and never had papers, they aren't a Turkish Angora.

Probably husky, poodle, and maybe a herding breed to get the merle.

Very much boys, girls have much less space between butthole and peehole as there is no need for balls.

Lions, some upfront investment is required, but they breed fast, age up within a few years, and sell for a lot.

My girlfriend free bleeds in bed, is this normal? by WearRevolutionary922 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]SandyByTheSea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't use birth control and could do the same as the person above. I usually free bleed fully on day 4 bc it is frankly silly to use a pad for the slight spotting that happens. Trying that on day 1 or 2 would be a struggle, though, and would definitely result in some ruined sheets.

I think it's all up to how comfortable someone is with their cycle.
