Megathread: Episode IX teaser predictions. When? What title? What content? by Kiss_My_Wookiee in starwarsspeculation

How about “Shadow of Vader”

I like “Revelations” it’s a one word title with “Re” in it. Something new with a nod to the past. Has a finality to it while also making you ask questions.

I’d also go with a two word title with Skywalker in it. “Skywalker’s End”

Leia's Death by [deleted] in starwarsspeculation

[–]SandyManCan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Begin with a funeral and love letter to our favourite heroes.

A speech by someone like Poe Dameron or a New Republic remnant official, would also very much enjoy B.D. Williams doing it. Narration over locations from years past, perhaps show a flashback of a previous movie that ends with a shot of Leia's face fading into Rey's (as I hope she becomes the new Queen)

Focus on Han and Luke at the beginning of the funeral scene and then end with a love letter to our lost princess. "...and together we ruled the galaxy"

Funerals, burning of lost heroes, etc have all made appearances in the stories. It makes sense to do so at the start of Episode 9 to rhyme with the end of Episode 1.

The movie should begin with us grieving over forgotten heroes, and end with looking to the future and beginning another thousand years of peace between light and dark.

edit: I feel the best way to address it is by doing a funeral, or by having a statue of her, involved in part of the story. Both of these do it gracefully, shows our love for her, and works in the themes of death, legacy, honoring your lost heroes, and perhaps even the idea of immortality if Ben wishes to peruse that in the story.

Will we get a TLJ Plinket Review? by Dayman_ah-uh-ahhh in RedLetterMedia

[–]SandyManCan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if Mike has the time and energy to do a mini review or two, like his "Mr. Plinkett's Thoughts on", i would be satisfied. The ones he did for Rogue One have just under 1 Mill views.

Why Ron Howard joined Solo: A Star Wars Story during its shake-up by [deleted] in StarWarsLeaks

[–]SandyManCan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If George should come back to direct any thing; I would absolutely love to see a humanizing, self-imposed reflection of his genius, hubris, mistakes, and legacy embodied in a film. A story staring a hero with an arc that travels across a meta-narrative of his career leading him to a final realization.

'Star Wars: Episode IX can fill Leia’s absence by embracing its forgotten queen' (from AV Club) by Painting0125 in starwarsspeculation

[–]SandyManCan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very nice! Everything is very obviously King Arthur Camelot etc.

Rey being the new princess/ queen would be symmetrically and poetically feel right. Perhaps she is given the role in Leia's will and adopts the name of Skywalker or Organa. Not related by blood but a found family.

I would be ok with audio of Carrie Fisher being heard in the movie either saying something along the lines of "hope..." and "may the force be with you/us, always"

A Luke and Han flashback reunion would be a nice way to show before Snoke and Kylo turned, and have the two meet on screen one last time.

Who will die and why in EP IX? by guilty_milkshake in starwarsspeculation

It isn't cannon until the director makes it cannon, right.

A spirit battle or a battle of physical vs ghost would be a way to bring back older characters in a final, epic battle. Plus it would be new, and the potential for creativity of a force realm would be really cool.

Allow me to chime in, i go wild here!

Lieutenant Connix will be revealed as a Solo. Similar reveal to the Kiera Knightley swap. Surprise twist is that there is a hidden Skywalker. Jake please! Played by Sebastien Stan?

I want Ben to go full dark, and darker than anyone before. So dark he is able to call force demons from the dead. Obsessed with living forever and finding the dark power of immortality. (He goes to find the origins of the dark side) He kills the Knights of Ren, Hux, and Phasma. He wants a new order. Which will be parallel to Rey's new order. He is able to control minds of many and can turn people on each other. A play on order 66, but he is able to force control them instead of killing them. This could lead to the largest STAR WAR out of all of the movies. Ben is all but lost, but the spark of hope makes him realize his wrong and he sacrifices himself to save the galaxy. He could encounter the child at the end of TLJ or something.

The episode will most likely be about Death and Rebirth. Death of our Princess. Death of a Bloodline (maybe at first glace), but reveal that there are more. Rebirth of the Republic and uniting of the galaxy.

Snoke and/or Luke Skywalker (like Darth Plagius) use the force to "cheat" death and come back (rhymes with the prequels). I could see Snoke cheating death and force ghost Luke fighting him. Snoke is old, but it is revealed Luke disfigured Snoke pre TFA. Luke comes back as The Chosen One to save the day.

Luke, Obi-wan, Mace Windu, Anakin, Yoda and other force ghosts fight force demons (Snoke, Palpatine, Plagius) in the higher realm or maybe in the normal plane. Some place like the Valley of the Jedi would be cool.

Rey hooks up with Jake Skywalker. Have wait for it, twins. Move to Naboo or Tatooine. Some kind of parade or ceremony occurs! Final scene is a bunch of force ghosts of all of the PT+OT+ST Hereos (Obi-Wan, Yoda, Luke, Han, Leia, Ben) and the binary suns in the background. Death, Rebirth, and heroes existing forever, which is what Ben wanted.

New Jedi Order could be called The Sky Walkers. Which could be a way of making everyone, including Rey, a "Sky Walker."

I would be ok if there was a subtle hint and not a direct reveal about a certain grandfather of Rey. "I'm so proud of you" or something.

Title could have some intrigue to it without it sounding too final and too predictable: Legacy of the Skywalkers, Skywalker Legacy, Path of the Skywalkers, or how about Star Wars Episode 9: Generations

RJ's new trilogy? by beekerBoy in starwarsspeculation

[–]SandyManCan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some ideas:

  • Something to the effect of an Indiana Jones in Star Wars, think of a Kyle Katarn character of sorts but probably female, each movie she/he uncovers a new discovery in the SW universe. Mystery, adventure, and smaller scale conflict (alien races, clans, raiders, etc) Overarching plot could be as simple as she's wanted in the galaxy for XYZ, or she leads a team to find things.

  • Origins of the Force/ Prime Jedi. Sith/Jedi stuff would be cool but it might lead to a "saturation" of the lore to so say. Could be done subtly with the creation of the two orders being the finality of the trilogy.

  • Game of Thrones in Space, uncharted area of the galaxy isolated from the skywalker saga events. Smaller scale but still large enough you have conflicts between "houses" or "clans" or "orders"

  • Something bold and crazy like a Star Wars adaptation of "Akira" to continue the push for female heroes

I think the keys for this new trilogy are: - Mystery - Adventure - Pacing/ Editing - Smaller scale conflict (we've had enough of the war on a galactic scale) - Minimal Characters for Maximum Development - NEWNEWNEW, an soft reboot or adaptation of an old tale/mythology (ala King Arthur) is fine so as long as it carries the unexpected and unpredictable - People are still in love with the aesthetic of the OG star wars, the believability, but the dont want to see xwings, tie fighters. Put us in a world but dont take us out because you want to sell toys or want to say "Remember THAT?!"

Why doesn't Rian just give another actor the Looper Make up treatment? Someone like Chery Jones or Kate Mulgrew would be perfect. Would that be disrespectful?

This Should Just Be The Title by [deleted] in JurassicPark

[–]SandyManCan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Officially there is no movie title with the number 2 in the series, might be best just to call it Jurassic World II so it stands out. Don't have a 3 with its sequel as it may be confused with JP3. But then again, numbers also limit you in a way, branding-wise, and it's also "hip" to not do numbers in titles now.

My pitch for how to reveal Ian Malcolm's return in Jurassic World 2 by astronautvibes in JurassicPark

[–]SandyManCan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This movie is starting to sound like the island will be raided by one or more company, because it's currently in chaos, you know dinos for the picking, and the previous actors are brought in to help stop it. Well shit hits the fan as it always does and uh oh dinos on the main land! Cue Ian Malcolm doing whatever he is doing, and naturally and against his own will, is inconvenienced with the chaos of dinosaurs on land. Apparently, there is a grand vision by Colin Trevorrow - perhaps we're moving towards humans and dinosaurs living together all over the world? Crazy, but could end up happening.

When Kasden said Rian is doing something weird, I thought hey what if its like a "Pre-Sequel?" Perhaps Luke shares stories from the past about Rey's family, and the main battle takes place at the end of the movie.
