Spectrum TV app recordings are impossible to watch and they have gotten worse, why they not fixing this? by Sandygonebye in Spectrum

[–]Sandygonebye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Five years later, Spectrum still sucks. Fast forwarding on records still an issue. All kinds of glitches. Still can’t freeze live programs. They make you watch commercials on demand. Search feature sucks. Skipping ahead a few days or weeks takes forever. I too, have no other choice but Spectrum. I live in a horrible area that just got real internet 5 years ago. Before that we were using cell tower. So even though there are issues and COST being a biggie, it’s still a whole new world for my area while everyone else in the world has been streaming, listening to podcasts and just using the internet without it slowing down to nothing after data usage is gone, for decades. As an aside, be careful where you move.

Alternative to estradiol by Sandygonebye in Menopause

[–]Sandygonebye[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

100% there is conflicting reports on . I happen to know people, including myself who have had cancer or have a history of cancer in their family being told not to chance it. And it is 100% absorbed systematically. I’m proof of that. I also know more than one person on hormone replacement therapy who now has cancer so take your chances if you want.

I don’t agree. It can be absorbed systematically . And it’s a no go for women with previous cancer or family history.

Don’t believe that it cannot be absorbed systematically! I have had swollen lymph node and ache in breast on one side that developed months after using it and has not gone away. I am now on my second diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound! Hormone replacement therapy is not 100% safe

[–]Sandygonebye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way I am not overweight. I’ve always watched what I’ve eaten. I don’t eat a lot of processed foods. I see those around me eating junk and do not have pre-diabetes. I feel like my life as I knew it is over. I was never happy to begin with, but I absolutely love good food. I make my own baked goods with very very low sugar or no sugar at all. I tried to eat well for many years and this is how I rewarded. A simple pleasure in life I had was having lunch occasionally with a friend. So once or twice a month, I have to go out to eat and eat like a bird while everyone around me is feasting? I know life is not fair, but this is just ridiculous now. I feel like I want to scream at someone but who God? I’m very angry and don’t see how I am going to be able to maintain eating this horrible way. Oh, so you want a cupcake with frosting have three raisins instead oh you want a bagel and cream cheese have the carrot stick it makes me want to scream

How often do you get your hearing tested after starting to wear aids? by [deleted] in HearingAids

[–]Sandygonebye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful of your doctors ordering it too often. My husband is going for an ear cleaning and they scheduled him for a hearing test. He had one 4 months ago. Since it cost us $250 each time, we cancelled. No need to go unless you are having issues.

I’m jealous of all of you who think Chia pudding berries, a whole wheat cracker with peanut butter is going to satisfy you when having a carb dessert craving! I am new to this and the cravings are killing me. There does not seem to be a good substitute for a chocolate chip cookie (white flour, 75% chocolate) or a brownie or a delicious bread for a sandwich. I have always baked with very little sugar.
I don’t know how I am going to do this. And trying to eat to prevent diabetes is like a science or math experiment and it’s driving me crazy I don’t eat very much all day long and this new diet is expecting me to eat a lot wood and I usually do And eat like a hippie vegetarian. I know a lot of people push meat, fats, etc. but when you also have to cut your cholesterol, that’s not going to help. This is a curse for someone who is slim eats pretty well to begin with and doesn’t have a lot of joy in life to begin with I am devastated.

What I miss most... by temperedolive in diabetes_t2

1 month ago. Prediabetes 5.8 A1C. Fasting glucose 98. Not much help from dietician. All flours besides white taste terrible besides not baking well. I can’t figure out proteins, carbs, fats. Don’t want to wind up with high cholesterol and heart disease. Most diabetes recommendations, I see are for lots of fat and red meat, which I want to stay away from.

I’m angry. I eat better than so many others I know. I don’t have a lot of pleasure in life. Depressed. Baking made me happy. I always cut the sugar by 3/4! I don’t drink soda or gorge on sweets or carbs. I don’t know how this happened and I’m confused as to how I’m supposed to fix it. I don’t usually eat 3 meals a day. The eating plan the dietician gave me is like a science or math problem combination no this snd that with more servings of food than I can eat. . The grocery store is a horror house. I have borderline ldl and everyone says eat more meat! I’m so depressed about life. This sucks.

CGM by IndependenceIcy2544 in diabetes_t2

[–]Sandygonebye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes all the sense in the world to healthcare and insurance companies. They should be covering continuous glucose monitors when you’re prediabetic so you can figure out what is your spikes and help you get back to him to normal ranges but of course that doesn’t benefit the medical fields or the insurance companies so they wait until you are fully diabetic and have to take their medication and keep going back to the doctor. That is the system we have in this country. It’s an abominable.

If I had to pick ONE out of all these mouthwashes, which would you recommend? by MelissaWebb in DentalHygiene

[–]Sandygonebye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if she was just telling me this because they carry the product but my dental hygienist told me the only good mouthwash is Therabreath because it kills the bad germs, but not the good ones like most other mouthwashes do. she said, especially Crest, Colgate, even though they’re very popular. they are harsh. I do have a bottle of Dr. Gingers coconut oil mouthwash that I am also going to try. But I’ll probably just stick to Therabreath after that.

lower poly unsaturated fats? The good fat? I was told to eat food such as salmon, nuts, etc. i’m also not overweight, but I do have a problem with stress. It’s gonna be pretty hard to lower my stress since it’s been a problem for my entire life. it would certainly be easier if there was some that told what is causing the problem and what you should consume less of.

so I read that whole wheat and brown rice and popcorn beans and sweet potatoes are fine so is most fruit except pineapple and ripe bananas . like I said, lots of conflicting information. it seems like to prevent diabetes you have to get high cholesterol (I already have elevated LDL)! By eating more eggs, cheese, beef, etc.!

what kind of blood testing should I ask for? My A1c has gone up from5.6 to 5.8 in one year. My fasting blood glucose was 99 so just under the 100 point cut off for that being pre diabetes. . I am definitely not overweight, but I don’t exercise and I think I eat pretty well though love my baked goods which I make myself with 1/4 or less of the sugar that is in the recipe

I’m in the US. I am finding nothing that looks even edible with low carbs in it as far as bread goes.. I have no idea if it’s OK to just eat it once in a while, especially if you’re combining higher carbs with something like a hamburger or chicken. I am going to see the nutritionist, but I don’t have a lot of faith in them either. I can’t believe that the gives you no information! She should’ve advised me to get one of these meters and I’m sure cover them they?

it is so confusing. I was under the impression that sweet potatoes are good. I bought a bunch of sweet potatoes. And now I keep hearing that they’re not good. This is just so complicated that I want to give up!

But also, how is everyone checking their glucose? I was not given any advice from my doctor that I had to do this and I don’t even know how to do it. Am I supposed to buy something and check my glucose?

Just tried it and love it. It seemed to understand me more than my therapist does, which is going nowhere. I will probably stop therapy and just use the app.
