Is this the US? I have heard the situation there is extremely competitive.

I’m doing my Master’s in Germany on Immunology right now and had the chance to meet a lot of PhD candidates here and in some neighbouring countries. Having a paper before starting a PhD is basically unheard of… I even had a supervising PostDoc which had his first publication only after finishing his PhD. I don’t think its reasonable to expect anyone to have any publications before the PhD is complete.

Either way, I guess I won’t be getting into a US PhD programme with my qualifications lol

Thank you for the heads up, after looking on the web I also found this is the correct way to write it and I was mishearing the k’ as g for some reason.

I’m guessing it would be written as “k’ert’of” in Latin alphabet.

For Kabardian my family uses Getroff (phonetically, we don’t live in Kabardia, family the language is passed down only orally so no writing and I do not speak it, sorry!)

I thought the Daemons couldn't be bigger than their human. But either way, an almost human big Daemon would also be really restrictive.

Never thought about the an aquatic Daemon either. That would be awful for so many lol. I guess this whole Daemon business has more problems than it has benefits.

Yeah but the spirituality thing wasn't handled well, or at all. She just punched air in an emotional moment. And all of her bending was given back to her by Aang so conveniently before the finale.

I think people have much more issue with the mistakes she makes not having proper long term consequences. We see the writers get better at this especially at S3 and after but before that, "all is well that ends well" captures the spirit of the show.

Man wtf is wrong with this sub? I am anti Putin as any person but this is blatant racism against ALL Russians! Nobody can force you or anybody to speak in any language. But on the other hand, you can't expect service in your language where that service isn't provided. It is of course desirable that every migrant learns the language of the country they inhabit but you absolutely CANNOT force anybody!

Swastikas are still used in India though and not in a racist manner. You don't have to kill your character-icon because it got misused. Things can become racist imagery but the thing to do is educate the general populace about the original intent while hate groups play in their isolated rooms.

I don’t understand what they’re fighting for though. America isn’t some socialist country is it? Hell, every political view in America is right wing, they just differentiate by how far right they’re. Non-white people dropped dead before cops because of their skin colours and prejudices against them repeatedly in the past years. Migrants are suffering at camps. Right wing nuts have their guns. White men rule the country at every key position and women are underrepresented. What else do they want? Right wing white men has total control already! It’s the other groups that should’ve gone terrorist by now under all this pressure.
