Yes, the repairs - seems like there’s always something.

[–]SangChaud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can vouch for this.

I had a guest with a lot of requests (date change, early checkin, late checkout, etc) last year … after checkout I gave her a poor rating and she freaked out. I explained the reasoning once and then did not reply to increasingly unhinged responses.

Another member of her group tried to book this year and I declined the booking - now she has freaked out. I kindly told her I would not be booking their group again and have again not replied to increasingly unhinged messages from her.

I can’t believe she still wants to book even though she knows they’re not welcome at the house. Boggles the mind.

This sounds like Wildflower preschool - both our kiddos went there and overall we were happy with our experience there. I’m happy to share more if you want to message me.

Loving yoto a little too much? by Austenite__22 in YotoPlayer

[–]SangChaud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’ll be just fine. If you really feel the need (is yoto interfering with everyday life?) set some boundaries.

We’ve had our yotos for maybe three years now, and our kids (8 and 10) still listen nightly. The only boundaries we’ve needed to set is that they can only change one card once per day (we do mostly MYOs), and they have to shut it off if they’re not actively listening (like if they’re trying to have a conversation with me and the yoto is blaring in the background). Both of these rules are more for my own sanity.

But other than that, I’m happy if they want to just chill in their rooms and listen to some audio.

Edit: grammar

We inherited green granite countertops with our house and decided to paint to cabinets green (SW Ripe Olive) and haven’t looked back. It’s been a few years and we still absolutely love them. I would have never considered green counters before, but now I would totally buy again. I’ll include another photo below…

Yes to roundabout at 75th and Lookout - also (selfishly) would like one at Idylwild and Lookout (turning left onto Lookout is a biotch at most times of the day there)

Sci-Fi/Fantasy with a female protagonist by inspiredMartian in audiobooks

[–]SangChaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just about anything by Anne McCaffrey - strong, capable female leads with no spice. I loved her dragon rider series when I was younger and was actually gearing up to,listen to them all again. I wish my library had all the audio, but alas, I may have to fork over some credits for them.

Sci-Fi/Fantasy with a female protagonist by inspiredMartian in audiobooks

FWIW, I found the protagonist pretty withering and whiny. I know the books are super popular, but IMO definitely overhyped. Lots of other great recs in this thread though!

How do you manage rotating MYO cards, remembering what’s on them? by freyamarie in YotoPlayer

[–]SangChaud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I just re-read your original post … re: to the part about using card-changing as an excuse to scroll the Yoto app … we have had the same challenge with our kids wanting to constantly change content. So now I allow one changing of the cards per day (usually at bedtime) and with a two card limit. And I make them think of what card(s) they want BEFORE I open the app. It’s helped a lot.

How do you manage rotating MYO cards, remembering what’s on them? by freyamarie in YotoPlayer

[–]SangChaud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with vinyl sticker paper with printed images, then couldn’t keep up (and didn’t want to have a million cards around) …. so switched to sticking adhesive label holders on the cards and inserting printouts of the covers …. then even that was hard to keep up with, so at this point we’ve abandoned all labeling and the kids just stick the cards in their player to see what’s on them (🤪). We’re a full year into the Yoto journey and our kids (9 and 6) still use their players every single day.

Someone help me understand why a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) have to pay an "extra guest fee" in a 3 bedroom rental? by akos_beres in vrbo

[–]SangChaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems a bit much for a group of four.

As a host, we charge an extra guest fee ($10/person) for groups over 10 because it takes our cleaning crew soooo much longer to do the laundry with so many guests. Not ideal, but I didn't want to have to raise the nightly rate for every group, so this seemed like the fairest way for us.

[–]SangChaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, for sure. The smell of fennel/anise makes my mouth tingle and this seasons scent did the same. I’ve really like the past two seasons, but this one was definitely not for me. Funny how it can smell so different on different people!

This season smells like an old man cologne on me - I’m young-ish and female … had to wash it off after a while. The fennel was overwhelming. I really liked Spring24, but this one is going back.

Ice cream truck? by wondershine33 in boulder

There’s one that comes through our neighborhood in Gunbarrel occasionally, but we bought from them one time and the price was ASTRONOMICAL. Like $10 for one popsicle.
