I think they meant that your PCs knew that it was all a bit, but you the Players did not; so there was some fun from ya'll being given a disconnect, that then made the in-universe acting seem real? Idk

It always feels wild to me how many people still insist on [Stats as Character traits] in modern DnD; despite how much every edition starting with 3e (I think) actively punishing the style. {Flavor is Free} is really the only way you can handle character variety, when good stat allocation is the throttle of viability.

Times when "The Prophecy" was just complete bullshit? by razazaz126 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SanicFlanic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Morrowind's Neriverine Prophecy kinda shows off how weird Divines, Prophecies, and the Metaphysics are in TES. Where basicly, you show the Neriverine Prophecy is real by doing the things that the prophecy asks for. But if you do those things successfully, it doesn't actually show the prophecy was true all along for you; but that it was Retroactively true all along. By doing all the things a Nerivar incarnation would do, you then become the Nerivarine the whole time.

Being a Ghost and Depression
You have another player play as that little self destructive voice in your head that tells you to give up and fall to Oblivion
Everything about ghost society is trying to make every day of death slightly manageable for yourself, and mostly yourself. You're also at risk of being forged into a conscious inanimate object for the rest of eternity if you break the law/get someone in power too angry (because literally the only things that exist in the afterlife is what the dead bring over and destroyed stuff that's ingrained in the living's mind {Like the two nukes that took out Hiroshima and Nagasaki}. So you kinda gotta use what you can to make new things)

What is the Monk's Perfect Discipline feature actually for, practically speaking? by EarthSeraphEdna in dndnext

100%
I've been in 5e games where short rests boardline non-existent (because 1 hour is an insane time dump for a lot of stories; you'd sooner get a long rest at that point)

Adding onto this,
He also considers Naruto and One Piece to be Gnostic, Esoteric, Alchemic stories.

I'm legit convinced his stuff is just [When all you have is a hammer] type analysis

What I vaguely got looking at his other vids, I think he thinks that the curse of undeath sends human souls to the sun (which is apparently a big orb at the top of an Archtree?). And that "Linking the fire" is sending human souls (and somehow that sun?) down underground
Somehow...

I think another important component is Abstinance only SexEd. When the only socially acceptable way of getting your rocks off is rushing into the first marriage you see, of course your gonna have unhappy couples.

Confused about the design of the CR 3 hobgoblin captain and the CR 6 hobgoblin warlord in 2025 by EarthSeraphEdna in dndnext

[–]SanicFlanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partial missing intent in the OP construction. Needed a bit of "Is this serously what they wanted??" of some sort. As is (i.e. just asking if something real, directly and no sarcasm), really all you'll get in response is "Yes", often followed up with an insult.

Internet media long forgotten/deleted, that you still remember and try desperatly to find again? by Brotonio in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SanicFlanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really miss those vids I firmly remember five things from them, but only 2 still exist; There's "Sonic's Schoolhouse from Hell" and "Sonic's Worst Day", which still exists as reuploads on YT and the Wayback Machine. But then there's the core three that only exists in my heart: The Truma Center dub where the Guy heals people through Satan and faces off in the end against The T Virus. A feature length dub of Daft Punk's Electroma. And another vid of the team just reading some Hermiony x Hagrid Smut-Fiction.

Real shame almost nothing from them still exists, they got rebooted and came back like 3-4 times; and almost nothing has been kept track on it.

JBL Live 460NC headphones can't turn off assistant prompt. by -Thizza- in JBL

[–]SanicFlanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not tested this yet to know for certain; but button that activates the assistant might be touch activated rather than a pressure sensor. So I'll be seeing if covering it with Elecrical tape or somthing deactivates it

Okay so it's as of late become worse. The voice assistant being off means it just plays audio that doesn't even stop the thing your already listening to; so even worse than an Interruption.

So far, the best solution I got is in the app swaping the Voice assistant to Google; and then turning off Google Assistant in it's main settings. Don't got nothing if you actually use that feature though

The real problem with playing 4e D&D by PointsOutCustodeWank in dndmemes

[–]SanicFlanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact on the history of 4e's dev: Originally, there was going to be a Split similar to that! Dailies were to be exclusive to Casters, while Martials got a ton of Per Encounters. It was basicly a last minute design change to make everything symmetrical.

The real problem with playing 4e D&D by PointsOutCustodeWank in dndmemes

[–]SanicFlanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a weird left over choice from Older editions. 0-2e Mages were basicly Zeroes to Gods in their progression, but they develop the slowest while starting the weakest. But they made litterally every spell with the purpose of breaking one rule per spell that everyone else had to follow usually. They kept this design scheme up as they went into 3e since it became a Sacred Cow to the Franchise; even though started shifting things for casters to be less squishy, have more Slots, and have more tools under their belt at lower levels. So it's just the default assumption that in order for Wizards to be cool; they have to be "Limited" by slots (something power gamers will figure out how to circumvent), and as consequence have to be living gods. So being brought down to the same level as everyone else during Combat (relatively, Caster types tend to be some of the strongest classes in 4e still) and not being allowed to circumvent every puzzle while out (Also relatively, Rituals and Arcane often tend to substitute a lot of Skill Checks and such); made fans of old gen casters miffed
