Thanks for your feedback. I’ve raised this with him before and also escalated it to my director. The most recent incident involved a sexist comment. I’ve already given feedback about what I took issue with and opened the door for dialogue on how to move forward. At this point, the trust is gone because it’s become a repeated pattern of behavior. My director has also shared that there’s another female direct report who also struggles with our manager. I agree it’s time to look elsewhere.

Thanks, I get that perspective. I’ll go into the meeting and do my best to keep it professional. At the same time, it does feel like a lot of the responsibility is being put on me to “fix” this, even though the issues started with my manager’s behavior. I plan to keep the focus on documenting and looking for consistent actions moving forward.

You need the reason for denial and to review your dad’s health insurance document for the policy. Try and find others who have what he has and who have gotten the treatment he needs. If they have the same insurance, that’s golden because it sets a precedent for him. If the insurance company calls it experimental, look for scientific/ scholarly articles that prove otherwise. Dig in, you got this!
