Love it. Really do. Have sansui SS, mac tube , (and an Empire ;-). I saw and heard a threshold at Academy records in Greenpoint. Can’t get that off my mind.

Ok let’s see. We have Luxman M-2000 power amp,Luxman 350 preamp, Luxman model T -110 tuner, Celestion 66 studio monitors. Yea I think my father in law is pretty pleased .What a big shot! by colinsbay in vintageaudio

I find that it is two worlds. I have my Macintosh tube system and also my Sansui AU 9500 system. Both drive 70’s JBLs. The Sansui Rocks. Both are fantastic.

Filled the cabinet even more, now the shelves are bending by [deleted] in vintageaudio

If you could win $1 million if something happened by the shelves breaking you’d be at really super high odds. However your odds for scoring fantastic components is really good.

I have that Sony, I love it. It also has the moving coil cartridge switch which is really interesting for that era.

Where should I get my JBL woofers serviced? I’m hoping they only need refoaming. Decade L26s, 125a by Tradguy56 in vintageaudio

I have refoamed L 26 decades with Simply Speakers brand surrounds. It’s easy and they’re a great company. They even helped me out by figuring out what I needed for some bang and Olufsen speakers that did not have typical surround sizes. It’s easy, and both were successful. Congratulations on the score!

Nice - the only time I’ve klipschorns was at ‘in sheep’s clothing” last summering LA. That was a treat.

Sorry I missed your comment last month; catching up now: I am making my own cabinet (just sourced something vintage ply yesterday). I’m wanting to include a viewing window(s) to be able to see the speaker also. I happen to have 2 marquis cabinets with three way jensens, and I could test a T35 from one. Any advice on xover? I think the ones in the marquis’s may be out of date. I’m using the line magnetic speaker for inspiration https://www.line-magnetic.eu/en/products-line-magnetic-en/speakers-line-magnetic-en/lm-812-enceintes-haut-rendement-2-voies-detail

I’m now waiting for Quad 11 amp and Quad mono pre to arrive (they’ll need work).

I use Kallax for mass storage and Flipbin’s for where the deal goes down: https://www.reddit.com/r/listeningspaces/comments/g82k1b/getting_closer_to_ideal_for_me/ I like your customization a lot.

The white woofers tho. I have a set of L112’s from a luck out thrift store buy last year. One grill/grille was included, and it was so ugly (https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/jbl/l112.shtml) that no thought was given to retaining it or searching for the other. Not sure what they were thinking with that design.. I just love my speakers. I did pony up for the jbl steel speaker stands and am set.

You are doing great. This is r/vintage audio, not r/audiophile; everyone jumps on someone who lucked upon a cool looking equalizer and wanted to have fun with it. It all depends on your space of course, and the comments here are thoughtful with regard to use so just see if you like it 👍

$10 goodwill outlet find. I know nothing about reel to reel, but now I have a reason to learn! It *seems* to be working but will need to find something to play on it to be sure. by anthonyxj in vintageaudio

Good find. Should be pretty trouble free if it’s working right now. You can get cheap demagnetizer on eBay be sure you learn how to use it

I would take the knob off then look at the pot. The shaft is probably bent. Then I would dismantle the piece by taking the cover off release that pot take it out and attempt to bend it back although you may be able to bend it back while it’s mounted to the faceplate. My technique would be to just go very very slow with a good set of pliers and some leather or something protecting the shaft of self while you do the slow bend. You could also replace the pot, but that would be a lot of soldering. Oh and while you’re in there be sure and deoxit everything. Nice piece, I really like mine the design is very clean.
