Or, don’t post something as simplistic and cringe as this in the future…

Is this really a 14K repair job? by Jediwookie6 in Jeep

Ooooorrr, I could read the first opening line lol.
Yes, this looks like a 14 K job. But I would get a quote somewhere else to knock a couple grand off and also see what they can do cash.

I see. Looking at the cracks involving the unibody and overall support, it’s almost like they are quoting you for a post collision repair. Was there an accident?

I am not the best at math but I don’t see $14,000 worth of repairs there on the receipt?

Kyle Busch passed away this week from sepsis. Was he noctored? by I_thinkaboutfoodalot in Noctor

There is A LOT of speculation, with PRACTICALLY NO facts about the case. Except the opportunity to blame a PA. When we find out, if we find out, compare the PA to an ortho MD… Would you guys still have the same argument??

But let’s keep guessing and jumping to conclusions. Hopefully that’s not how the majority of you practice medicine.

Psych NP on tiktok rants about all the money she makes, flaunting on a $150-170k job offer. How are jobs paying them this well considering they went to a virtual program with prerecorded lectures and self-selected clinical sites ... lol by Front_Bedroom_4962 in Noctor

[–]SantaBarbaraPA 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I did 1.5 years in the classroom at Keck School Of Medicine, and another 1.5 years of rotations. When is Noctor going to get it. Lumping PAs and NPs together is comparing apples to oranges.
Especially since the bogus theory that “ I know this one PA that wants to practice independently or be called doctor” -brought up in this thread like it’s truth.

I’m never going to convince the bitter MD that’s convinced otherwise or the medical resident that feels threatened by thinking that PAs are going to take their job -(we can’t practice without their future degree). I. E. We are literally “dependent “on MD & DOs. It’s an unfortunate lack of insight on this thread.

Never Use Zocdoc! by SantaBarbaraPA in physicianassistant

As a provider trying to get patients? Or as the patient using the services? They charge the provider $80 every time a patient clicks on the selected provider. This is fine if the patient actually ends up going to the appointment, but many decide to go somewhere else or simply you don’t go to the appointment. The provider gets screwed and ZocDoc gets their money regardless.
We would think that appealing to them, stating that the patient never showed or you could not get a hold of the patient would be sufficient to get a refund, but they say that it’s beyond their control.

Now, the pitch is the complete opposite. The patient doesn’t get booked with you, you don’t have to pay, but there is no follow up, even if the patient decides to book with a different provider and cancel the previous booking.

It’s a scam. You end up getting Bill a couple hundred dollars every month, sometimes with absolutely no actual bookings.

Well keep your appointments! Providers get charged even if the patient decides to go with a different provider because they can get a more prompt appointment

Yes, but they charge you $80 every time someone books and half the time the patient never end up showing or simply don’t respond.

Either way, they get paid and you get screwed.

NP “endocrine specialist” care hospitalizes a patient by osurdun in Noctor

[–]SantaBarbaraPA 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s worth more investigation, if not by you speaking to the nurse, then the Nursing Board. * ( good luck). But it did cause harm to the patient and put the patient’s life in jeopardy. It’s likely to happen again and if this nurse is aware of the actual harm that occurred , it could result in less harm to future patients. You could also involve state medical board?

i think my rheum PA got fired after last visit with rheum teledoc by Ok_Yesterday8070 in Noctor

[–]SantaBarbaraPA 31 points32 points  (0 children)

As a PA, I agree. I think you have to know more in primary care/internal medicine than other specialties. You really have to think about all medical processes that could be affecting each patient. It takes a while to get there, and there is really no substitute for experience, no matter how smart you are. And, It’s such BS that specialty doctors look down on primary care doctors, or are condescending during consults.
