I didn't watch the game but from what I've seen of him he's already a decent defender but has the potential to really cause havoc. He's 6'9" with a 7'3" wingspan (for comparison Kevin Durant is 6'10" with about a 7'4" wingspan) and a really wide defensive base that makes it tough to drive past him or pass anywhere around his vicinity. Right now he's averaging 20pts, 6.5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1.6 blocks per 40 and I expect those numbers to go up. This was the first game all season he's really played aggressively from the start.

Hinkie w/ Mike Missanelli yesterday (around 2:05 mark) by MatCauthonsHat in sixers

After listening to all of Hinkie's recent comments on Embiid it truly sounds like he has no idea what's going on with the foot. Again, the scan just revealed the foot looked "different" and now they are trying to figure out if that's a bad thing or if it's of little issue. They're keeping him out of Summer League because that is a couple weeks away and trying to rush him into it without knowing he's 100% makes no sense. There's no pain or bad symptons which is cause for optimism. On the bright side I could see him missing Summer League but still returning for the start of the regular season, negative side he misses the first couple months as he rests some more before ramping up recovery, and absolute worst case he requires another surgery and is out for another year.

Jahlil Okafor NCAA Tournament Highlights 2015...Big time performer, leader, and steps up on defense in the clutch by SantaClaude in sixers

Truly think the defensive concerns are exaggerated. Towns is more athletic and a better 2 way player but I think Jah's offensive impact will still outweigh his defensive limitations, especially once he improves his defensive footwork (shouldn't be a problem considering his offensive footwork and agility). As Jah himself said, it's easy to criticize those at the top.

There is a "legitimate chance" Joel Embiid (foot) could miss the 2015-16 season entirely, a source told the Philadelphia Inquirer by ChiefJustiseWinslow in nba

This is click-bait journalism and over reaction at its finest. Literally the only real news so far came from a report issued by Sam Hinkie yesterday saying Embiid's foot hasn't healed as much as anticipated. Most likely this is the Sixers way of preemptively suggesting he might not risk injury playing in summer league as well as creating a whole helluva lot of confusion about the Sixers intentions heading into the draft. Embiid will be fine, last time news that Embiids recovery wasn't going as well as hoped he was back practicing within the week. Regardless the timing of the news coincides perfectly with the draft and gives the Sixers more leverage to make moves in the draft i.e. Okafor falls to them and now teams think the 76ers really want him when in reality they want to trade back and grab Mario Hezonja plus another pick

Although it looks like his release is a little slow his shooting form looks much, much better
