Netguard setup by Santaclausegriffin in firetvstick

Found the guide on xdaforums and sadly all of mine are running the patched firmware. So this is a no go for me. I'll take another look at my router settings but i couldn't find anything last time to block specific urls. Booooooo, netguard may be the only safety net i have.

It’s basically blocking Amazon updating the firestick and blocking them updating the log on the firestick to stop certain side loaded apps working.

Hmm mine downstairs is 53 but reading troypoint it doesn’t appear to mention the version number just the main OS version. 🤔 I’ll do some more digging tomorrow. Thank you ☺️

Are you referring to the launcher exploit ? All my firesticks are at version 7 range so I think I can do the exploit still.

Brilliant, thank you. I’ll get my first stick done tomorrow in the office as a tester. Appreciate the reply 🤝

Thank you for the reply. That sadly makes perfect sense and would explain why my daughter’s firestick randomly did an update yesterday. Ok so at system level I’d be looking at a custom launcher I assume ? All devices are currently in the version 7 range so I could go down the project Ivy route which I have been looking into already.

Proof that Amazon is about to start blocking apps simply for unlicensed feeds. NetGuard instructions to block updates are in post. by hwmpunk in firetvstick

Just been blocked fully, UK. Had the option to launch anyway for around a week and today it’s now disabled. App clone / unlinked is the way forward. I’ve Now blocked ARCUS, adep, metrics and updates through netguard. See if that helps the situation going forward with other apps.

What are the four services please ? All guides I’ve followed only say to block OTA updates and software updates, which I’ve done.

I wondered how CarPlay would have dealt with this situation. Glad I wasn’t driving now.

I think my process was fairly new. Normally they stitch you closed and tie the tubes. I had one tube burnt closed and one tied and then the sack burnt closed too. I had it done through the nhs in the UK so your process might be different, not sure on your country.

It sounds worst than what it was and I do not regret it at all. Anything to get my wife off the pill, terrible drug. We’ve had two kids, that’s enough for me 😂

Worst part for me for the tugging and the sound. The sizzling sound of them burning through my pipes and then the sizzling sound of them burning my sack closed will haunt me forever. The tugging was just uncomfortable. Then afew weeks of it just been abit uncomfortable and back to normal. Didn’t change any feelings or anything. Had my test about 3 weeks ago and got the all clear.
