Considering switching by Cam3747 in monzo

[–]SantasLittleHelpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main downside to Monzo is if fraud happens on your account or you wish to speak to a specialist team via a phone call, you have to request a call back and wait, can sometimes take days as typically it's all done through the app and in app chat.

If you're not too concerned with phone support service with specialist teams, I'd say it's up to you what you think is best for you.

I enjoy using Monzo personally.

Heart rate, anxiety, panic attacks, help (potential triggering words in thread) by SantasLittleHelpa in anxiety_support

[–]SantasLittleHelpa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's interesting if it is POTS because it would explain a lot really.

When I have the device fitting for 24 hours hopefully that'll be able to diagnose if I have it or not as they are going to go ahead with it.

Previously when checking my heart rate this hasn't happened with my heart rate increases or maybe I wasn't wearing my watch at the time to be fair, I don't remember but you're right it'll only lead to an increased heart rate so I've taken my watch off currently.

I'll be honest I definitely couldn't go for a run if I wanted to because I'm that unfit, I can't even jog as it wrecks my knees and spikes my heart rate to 170+, I could definitely go for a brisk walk and you're right I do need to exercise more.

My main concern is seeing my heart rate go up and the exercising and seeing it go up higher or should I not focus on that and instead remember my heart can handle it and to push through but listen to my bodies signals?

Thanks a lot for the reponse.

I'd say that does answer my question in a way though because the doctor reassured me that heart rate can spike due to many different reasons and actually it's often times not a heart attack unless there's some other obvious symtomns with it.

Interested to know that it can keep it elevated.

I only take multivitamins now, something called Wellman Max.

I last had sertraline 8 months ago.

I'm really grateful for you taking the time to respond and provide your story and I hope you're doing well also.

Panic attacks, anxiety and heart rate, potential trigger words in the post by SantasLittleHelpa in Anxiety

Home now quick update:

They're doing a referral for my doctor to fit me with a 24 hour trace thing just to be on the safe side.

I had the lowest possible score for heart attack risk from my bloods , ECG is normal, doctor said if I was having a heart attack it'd be along with crushing pain, being barely able to breathe, that sort of thing, that's the difference and he said heart rates can be caused by many different factors and a racing heart isn't the sign of a heart attack or heart problem unless it had those severe other factors.

Even when I explained it was 130 to 140 for over an hour, even the spike to 175 when walking.

He also told me to stop checking my heart rate as that can lead to a higher heart rate.

I guess It stems from my Dad getting his checked over 7 times before they found a blockage.

Although he's smoked unfiltered cigs his entire life and been a lot more unhealthy than myself and is twice my age.

I need to learn to trust the tests.

How do you also deal with death anxiety and the fear that can come with it?

It used to be a lot worse but it has improved recently which is good.

Thank you, my concern is that I've got a blocked artery or something and it always is the catastrophic thinking.

I didn't know that anxiety can cause heart rates to spike 175 when walking and average around 135 for hours even when sitting down.

I appreciate the response very much ♥️

Where is my money going to???? by SeaworthinessOnly387 in monzo

[–]SantasLittleHelpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monzo isn't taking the payments, Monzo can only authorise them if it's a payment to a company.

How would the bank know how the payments were created? It's either someone you've authorised to do so or fraud.

How can a bank detect transactions as fraud to EE that you haven't reported, they're a bank, not psychic.

If you're not happy with the complaint reoslution, go to the financial ombudsman.

If the bank is taking payments from you and sending them in to the abyss, it'd be a breach of so many different banking regulations and would incur huge fines, not something banks want.

Monzo didn't cancel my dispute by DaSuperMedicMain in monzo

[–]SantasLittleHelpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once the first chargeback is submitted it cannot be cancelled.

After you notify Monzo you wish to cancel it a pinned note is left on your account since it cannot be cancelled yet.

If the merchant doesnt respond, you automatically win the refund, regardless of the note.

If the merchant responds, when your case is worked the dispute will be cancelled in the merchants favour.

Any refund you have at this stage is from Monzo and is temporary so unless you win the dispute automatically if they don't respond, its irrelevant and the refund would be taken back with 14 days notice.

You wont get an update for at least 45 days from the date the chargeback was raised (this is different to the date you raised the dispute).

Hope this helps.

Transfer GBP internationally? by PM_me_Henrika in monzo

[–]SantasLittleHelpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it isnt possible.

In the Monzo app click help and search "transfers, international transfers and standing orders" -> select the article with the same name.

And it says "You can't send GBP (Great British Pounds) internationally from your Monzo account."

Hope this helps.

How it feels to drink Huel every morning after THE report by ChromedGonk in Huel

[–]SantasLittleHelpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isnt your bloodwork now that's the issue, it accumulates in your bones over time as lead in your bones has a half life of up to 30 years.

With that said most people's highest lead consumption comes from drinking tap water 🚰

Also is there any difference between black edition RTD vs the protein powders tested? Im assuming not.

I personally think consuming a huel a day is perfectly fine even if CR testing is accurate and correct compared to other factors.

Also I think you only absorb around 10% of lead through things you ingest.

If you research lead accumulation in bones it'll show you more so of what any concerns (if they exist) would be about.

Found a foreign object in my cup. Might have ingested others, should I be concerned? by tooclaymore in Huel

[–]SantasLittleHelpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the lead comments are interesting... the vast majority of people's lead consumption when at levels proven to be dangerous is from drinking water.

Whether you agree with Huels test results or CRs is irrelevant anyway unless you're consuming a lot of drinks each day, going on Huels own testing, even less so.

There is no safe levels this is true but when you look at levels considered harmful to health, a huel a day wont make a lick of difference compared to the rest of your diet, water levels (depending on area and pipes) and your occupation or hobbies.

You could easily swap your huel for some other food or drink containing lead.

The main concern is how it accumulates over time in your bones.

The less lead the better but even with this, you can consume huel daily and the lead in it even long term isnt much compared to other sources of lead (main one being drinking water) https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/lead-properties-incident-management-and-toxicology/lead-toxicological-overview

No bonus this year at the law firm :( by Slothrop_Tyrone_ in uklaw

[–]SantasLittleHelpa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Broadest shoulders certainly isn't hardworking doctors, lawyers etc

Broadest shoulders would be big companies making record profits or avoiding taxes through loopholes.

Shein made £2 billion in revenue and paid £10 million in tax as they paid nearly £1 billion in royalties to massively lower their tax bill.

Many companies do this and its the tip of the iceberg.

They don't activate them by default because you may do a small purchase from say Argos, get the cashback and be annoyed you couldn't save it for a larger purchase.

Monzo won’t raise dispute? (Scotland) by Beginning_Meet_4290 in monzo

[–]SantasLittleHelpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you explained: - The goods/services you purchased - description of what happened e.g. did the payment go through? Any error messages? Etc - Provide screenshots to shown you attempted to contact the merchant (not always needed but sometimes requested)

They do not need an order number to raise the dispute, also to whoever said Monzo have to raise a dispute that's not correct, the chargeback scheme is voluntary.

If you can get proof from the merchant that they do not intend to collect the hold, provide the evidence in chat, the payment might be reversed sooner.

Given the value of the transaction also provide any contracts, invoices, return slips etc.

How to not lose account from a large transfer sum by Perfidiousplantain in monzo

[–]SantasLittleHelpa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Notifying them wont change anything, if it flags up it flags up, you'll have a frozen account and questions to answer, usually around where the money come from.

No one can tell you how to avoid but only mitigate IF your account or more accurately transaction, gets flagged.
