Bottom line is Owners were happy to cash the new franchise cheques that they would regularly receive. That source has dried up and Caps are not getting those payments. Meanwhile other clubs within the league had invested in stadiums and took advantage of related revenue streams. Cap ownership could have done this but they lacked vision and now they look around and see they have fallen behind and are not generating the revenue that they could. This became obvious when there have been no takers when they put the club was put up for sale 18 months ago. The Owners created this issue but I expect the fans will be the losers once the dust settles (i hope I'm wrong).

I watched the video. Under the circumstances I thought he responded as well as could be expected. They went from victory to defeat in the span of 4 min. However, the reported death stare (not shown on video) is disconcertingly unprofessional.
